This is Elizabeth, the person from the video. It is now nearly 2 years since I started my Keto journey and I thought I would come on and share an update. I am still eating Keto and working on fasting, but unfortunately, I got covid and then had two difficult falls/injuries so had to stop walking. BUT I just got my blood work back and it is WONDERFUL. All my liver values are still great, some even better than they were when this video was first done. AND my cholesterol has finally gotten back to normal AND my thyroid has finally gotten to normal without medication. Overall it is great! This second year has been difficult because of the illness and injuries but I am still Keto for life!

Thank you so much, Elizabeth! 🙏🏻 I am so inspired by your success. I’ve had fatty liver for 20+ years. Doctors told me not to worry about it. But it’s now become worse. With you and Dr Boz as information and inspirational sources, I am tackling this fatty liver and it’s working. Your liver enzyme numbers are phenomenal!

I lose 60 plus pounds in less than 5 months. I say 60 plus because I don't weight myself everyday I might do it once a week or two. Went from a pants size 48 to well I need pants that fit me lol. But I did try on a 38 at the goodwill it was still lose but I couldn't find a 36. Maybe next weekend I can go get some new pants. Willing to do some interviews and ask any questions anyone has and my advice to everyone is to stay strong because you go this.

IIm down from 278 lbs to 189 since March, 2021. That's 85 lbs in 6.5 months. I had sleep apnea, Gerd, high blood pressure, insulin resistance, fatty liver, and type II diabetes, and zero energy to do anything. Now I've got probably too much energy and great mental clarity, as well as no high BP ( was about 145/95 on 3 different meds...now about 115/72, with no meds), no Gerd, no sleep apnea, and my blood sugar hasn't been over 106 in months. That's AFTER eating! Fasting blood sugar is usually in 80's and 90's. HUGE THANK YOU to Dr. Boz, and her mother and the books!

Dr Boz i am soooo happy to have found you on KZbin...you are soo real and inspiring.. THANK YOU FOR CARING SOO MUCH..❤ I am a very healthy 62 yr old and the last cold I had was at high school...my only issue is digestive issues...bloating and unexplained severe pain over the belly button that comes on suddenly without any known triggers... For years I have had this issue as well as weight gain 30kg despite not overeating, I am active and average 13000 steps a day... Years back I wanted to become a fruitarian and went onto a mono fruit diet, where you eat only one type of fruit a day...my normal weight was 45kg after 5 days I was 38 kg and got scared that I was getting to thin...I stopped this and after that the weight started to come back slowly but did not stop, despite trying to lose...and my digestive issues started...I was told after scopes, scans and x-ray's that I have NAFL...I SELDOM DRINK ANY ALCOHOL and never more than one at any time. Since I found you I realised I do nibble on so called healthy snacks, in-between small meals, which spikes my insulin... I have been on a strict keto journey since Jan and only lost 1.5kg. I measure my peetones and glucose and no peetones produced yet. My glucose stays steady between, started 6.2 fasting and 6.9 after a meal...now 5.2 to 5.9 after a meal...their is a slight improvement. I have added MCT10 and BHB salts to help produce ketones and have had a slight itch on my belly area which went away within 2 days, assuming my body used it all... I had my bloodwork done awhile ago and my fasting insulin was 9.2 My Homosistine is 9 My GGT = 24 ALT = 26 AST = 21 ALKALINE FOSPHATE = 100 (WAY HIGH AFTER SEEING YR VIDEO) TOTAL CHOLESTROL = 5.2 ESR = 22 LIPASE = 12 AMILASE = 23 I FEEL REALLY STRONG, no headaches, loads of energy and longest fast was 30hrs. I suspect I am insulin resistant and therefore can't lose weight... I think I'm doing things right but I'm stuck... PLEASE HELP🙏🙏 Fran from South Africa 🇿🇦

Why are primary doctors soooo against KETO. My doc is constantly telling me low fat, no KETO. I did a zoom diabetic class, when I asked about KETO absolutely not, we don't do fad diets. When I asked about intermittent fasting they said, no we don't recommend it because when you get too hungry you will over eat. Guess what, I already over eat because I eat a lot of carbs and 2 hours later I'm hungry. I pull out the Great American Food Pyramid published in the 70s. I said I did this 100% for years, that's why I'm fat. That's why I have diabetes . Whoever developed that pyramid should be sued. They made over 50% of America obese and diabetic. Big Pharma and the food industries jumped on the bandwagon by selling us prescriptions that don't work and pumping us up with sugar that is in EVERYTHING.

Dr Boz. I'm just at the moment clearing out my cupboards and contemplating the change to a keto or low carb "New Atkins" diet. I am finding a lot of ready meals, sauces, and pickles I eat have rapeseed oil in them (quantity unknown). Please can you clear up whether, generally speaking, this is an acceptable oil (though not perfect - as it's a seed oil) or where it's a complete no-no for people trying to lose weight and get healthy. Thank you.
@DoctorBoz3 жыл бұрын
I avoid it. The general rule I use is “can you see where the oil comes from?” If the answer is no, I stay away. For example- the olive is oily … I can “see” where the oil comes from. Same with the avocado. The kernel of corn - I can’t see the oil. The process to extract the oil is remarkably nasty. The number of electrons flying out of those processed oils does actual damage to folks. Stick with fat that is hard at room temp.. or oils that you can “see where the oil comes from.”

Are some people unable to make ketones, perhaps because of insulin resistance?
@speculativereality3 жыл бұрын
Some YT ketosis-gurus say that peeing ketones doesn’t necessarily mean you are in ketosis or doing it right…that only the blood will tell…as a layperson, I suspect that if you’ve produced them at all, esp in excess, is a strong sign that at some point of the day you were in ketosis [which is my goal and consider it a positive sign that I’m metabolically flexible] am I in the ballpark or way off base?😉😁

@@elizabethhanson9420 What about if you were to substitute fructose/sucrose, and only consume glucose sugar. From what I can tell, you can get pure glucose in the form of corn syrup. What impact would that have on the body I wonder?
@elizabethhanson94203 жыл бұрын
@@tenazrael The corn syrup used in most soft drinks and other sweetened beverages in the U.S. contains about 55% fructose and 45% glucose, compared to the 50/50 fructose-glucose ratio found in table sugar. The major difference between glucose and corn syrup is the water content. If some of the water in the corn syrup is evaporated it can be used interchangeably. Or, in your case, just add the right proportion of water to the liquid glucose. Glucose syrup is almost entirely glucose, being made from as much as 98% glucose. However, corn syrup usually has a few other ingredients. It is a high level of glucose plus a few different sugar types mixed in. Corn syrup can be up to 98% glucose, but it can also have as little as 10% glucose. I think that both fructose and glucose can cause the same damage, maybe fructose damage happens faster.

I can't eat anything with Stevia in it so I purchased some of Dr. Boz's BHB. Unfortunately, when I took it, my heart started racing. Others online told me to back off from the usual dose of 4 capsules and to take only one and see if that caused any issues. I can take ONE capsule without an issue but anything more than that at one time makes my heart race. As far as Afib and the medications you take. I am unsure but I would be very careful and start out slowly.
