Only ourselves so we take ownership over the problem. But with this ownership you shouldn't blame yourself because it will create self doubt and shame. Instead move forward with a life lesson instead of saying lts my fault. You will get farther with that mindset

I honestly think blaming yourself and taking accountability over the “victim mentality” is a lot easier to live and get over (in most cases), because that implies that you’re in control of the situation, the outcome, and how you react rather than you being victim to something and not having control.

I will say accountability is a two way street. Don't blame yourself if you truly got screw over because it happens. Instead move on with a life lessons. Also in some causes blaming others for their actions is a sign of high self esteem in a sense you know what was on them and what is on you. In some cases, this can make people respect you better because you hold them accountable. However this only applies for situations where two or more people played a part. If it's just you then that's a different story.
