It will be very exciting for a marvel fan like myself to see a scientist explaining marvel metals.
@tmac27443 жыл бұрын
A few nitpicks here: 1. While Cap's shield in the MCU is made from Vibranium, the shield in the comics is made from a Vibranium alloy called Proto-Adamantium. 2. The process for the creation of Proto-Adamantium is what you described in the video when talking about the guy who fell asleep. It is also that "X" factor that is believed to make Cap's shield resistant, in the comics, to Wolverine's claws. 3. Primary Adamantium has never had the process for creating it fully explained, except that it is an alloy that was created during an attempt to synthetically create Vibranium. 4. Both Proto and Primary Adamantium have been manipulated in the comics by Magneto. He has caused Cap's shield to fly off in a random direction and he, famously, ripped ALL of the Adamantium from the bones of Wolverine. 5. A point not touched on is that Adamantium is apparently toxic to humans, and only individuals with healing factors or toxic resistances would be able to survive having it inside their bodies.
@Dave-gk6si Жыл бұрын
We still don’t know what the third component was that makes up Captain Americas shield. As for Adamantium. If it’s indestructible it really shouldn’t be toxic. Since fragments of the metal can’t break off. Hence the problem.
@tmac2744 Жыл бұрын
@@Dave-gk6si Agreed, the 3rd component has never been disclosed. To your point about the toxicity of Adamantium: I would refer you to Tungsten Carbide. To most people this is a really hard/strong metal that can be held in the palm of your hand safely. However, when you get it inside you, it interacts with your body fluids to become toxic. It is not used for surgical instruments for that exact reason. There is little-to-no damage to the instrument itself, however it micro-leeches toxins into your body. I suspect that it is supposed to be something similar with Adamantium, since holding it is supposedly safe. That would mean that only someone with a resistance to toxins, such as pretty much everyone with a true regenerative ability would be able to survive for long after the application process. That said, the way it is depicted in both comics and movies, I would say that it acts in much the same way as a heavy metal toxin, and doesn't wash out of the body, even for regenerators.

When you say primary adamantium, is that the same as true adamantium?
@tmac27449 ай бұрын
@@xXBallistic82Xx Different sources call it differently, even in Marvel, but yeah, Primary and True Adamantium are the same.
@tommoore20126 ай бұрын
@@tmac2744 In wolverine's case his skeleton is coated in beta Adamantium. Weapon X injected regular adamantium (i.e: primary/true adamantium) into his body but the alloy wasn't able to bond to his skeleton as it was. So Logan's healing factor eroded the molecular structure of the material weakening it to an extent.

There's also radioactive metal called Carbonadium, which can stop, or slow healing powers like Wolverine's. In one comic Deadpool used it to kill Wolverine.

I remember reading a comment a while ago saying that at one point in the comics Captain America's shield was successfully broken apart but it was reforged by asgardian blacksmiths. During their re-construction of the shield they added uru metal to it allowing the shield to become enchanted.

Bear in mind, Spiderman 2099 once used Thor's hammer to beat the living sh*t out of Thor when he showed up in 2099. He didn't use it's magic, he just used the hammer itself. Also, Tony Stark has an entire Iron Man suit made of Uru metal that Odin gave him during the Fear Itself event. (Actually, a LOT of heroes got enchanted Uru weapons during that event)

Iron man could have used Uru to make a suit for Doctor Strange in my opinion. I think for iron man himself he would personally need a mix of Uru and Vibranium. He could make a great suit with it that has much more power and capability

Apparently, Uru Metal should be in the periodic table at number 143. Feyman proved that starting from 137 (Feinenium), electrons in the near orbit move faster than the speed of light. (Which explains the possibilities of this metal for opening a hole in space). And Dirac and Fock proved that there are no stable nuclei with numbers higher than 172 (Dirac Fock). We also know that Ur is not chemically active, so it is in the subgroup of Copper (Silver, Gold). So we have only one element in this subgroup and in this range, this is an atom with 143 protons in its nucleus.

Colossus metallic skin is a visual effect only, it doesn't actually change color. It is to let you the audience know when he is in his "metallic" state. When Colossus activates his mutant ability, he becomes much bigger and his super human strength activates and his bones, internal organs and skin become as hard and as durable as tungsten and his skin actually takes on a sort of glossy sheen, like when bodybuilders cover themselves in baby oil.
