Vibranium, the Wakanda variant, always bothered me. It absorbs all kinetic energy and turns it into vibrations, which is would just be heat. So if Hulk were to punch a slab, or say Cap's shield, it would turn all the energy from Hulk's punch into heat. Now I don't know exactly how much heat that would be, but I assume most nearby people would be liquified from it
@GuardianTactician
@GuardianTactician 8 жыл бұрын
+Andy Westfall I am going to recommend understanding the difference between heat and vibration. They are related, but distinct. www.quora.com/What-is-the-difference-between-sound-energy-and-heat-energy-if-both-of-them-make-particles-vibrate
@andrewwestfall65
@andrewwestfall65 8 жыл бұрын
Thomas Eddy Interesting, I guess I never thought about sound being so similar. But my point still stands, albeit Cap now dies from the force of sound waves instead of intense heat. If I understand your implications. Really, my issue is that they try explaining a made-up magic material with science. If they had just said it was indestructible I would be fine with it
@GuardianTactician
@GuardianTactician 8 жыл бұрын
In order for a material to be indestructible, the atomic structure has to be rigid to the point where no force or energy directed at it will change the structure. If Captain America's shield was just indestructible then all forces directed at it would pass through the shield to him. In this case, Hulk's punch would send Cap flying, and the impact would likely kill him. What the comicbook writers were attempting to create was a shield that absorbs and disperses impacts, so that Cap could stand toe to toe with opponents far above his weight class in terms of raw power. I'm willing to suspend my disbelief for that aspect. What is really impossible is Captain America bouncing his shield around, because the impacts should be absorbed, causing it to fall to the ground.
@andrewwestfall65
@andrewwestfall65 8 жыл бұрын
Thomas Eddy I understand the intention, and yes an actual indestructible shield wouldn't be as useful. They have a physics defying, I'm fine with that. The thing that bothers me is that they try to explain the physics defying with physics. Hulk does impossible things all the time and they never bother to try and explain it.
@drdoom700da
@drdoom700da 6 жыл бұрын
Andrew Westfall with perfect elasticity, it would all be converted to elastic potential energy rather than heat energy. The physics is sound. Probably not feasible in the real world, but very sound physics.

Do you have a comic that gives evidence to the fact that the plot required Adamantium and vibranium, or that it was invented first and then used in plots?
@Just_Some_Guy_with_a_Mustache
@Just_Some_Guy_with_a_Mustache 8 жыл бұрын
***** I suppose it's the latter, but you can decide. The strength of the metal usually depends on what's going on. For example, in Original Sin and The Infinity Gauntlet, The Serpent and Thanos (respectively) break Cap's shield to show how strong they are. In Fatal Attractions, Magneto is simply able to remove all of Wolverine's adamantium to show how pissed he is. Ultron's body is thought to be unbreakable, until it isn't for reasons. Every other time, though, they are shown to be able to withstand anything.

you failled on the explanation of true Adamantium, however its mainly the fact you did not state what its known recipe is composed of. the first is that true/primary Adamantium is actually composed of iron and multiple resins mixed together making it a alloy and not a true metal, also that it takes around 5-10 minuets (cant remember the exact time) to cool and become indestructible so you do have a little bit of time to work it. then the fact that secondary Adamantium is partly made from vibranium. then there is Adamantium beta, the alloy that wolverine's healing factor changed so it did not inhibit bone growth. other then that it was a good video. keep up the good work

Vibradmantanium should be a new melded metal with a character that Fuses both with suit and bone that makes him virtually indestructible unit, since he is not of wakandan royalty and he foolheartedly ignored this important factor he slowly dies and being overconfident he misjudges the power of hulk/Thanos/ECT...and gets crushed like a tin can or a beetle under the foot of a man who trusted In his carapace too much. Your videos have helped me grow my knowledge and love for comics by leaps and bounds! I'm relatively new to American Comics (got into Manga due to Anime's lack of finishing a lot of stories I love...) and then my love of the MCU to comics and I read Civil War, House of M, Secret Invasion, and a myriad of misc. stories but now I'm going in order (Starting with Avengers Diss. all the way to Civil War 2 so I struggle to avoid your videos that'll spoil some of the story I do not know) so videos like this help with my understanding of details more thoroughly and I thank you SO MUCH for your time and efforts, keep it up man, you are a TRUE, TRUE scholar and Gentleman.

+Thomas Wayne Jr. (Owl) I've always heard it explained as sloppy writing. On one hand, you have a character whose catch phrase is "i'm the best at what I do" so you want to show him as the badass fighter with over a century of experience. On the other hand, you've got a character whose primary ability (healing) only shows if he gets injured. But I think the less cynical people would point out that Logan's entire life has been spent in a constant cycle of berserker rages and desperate attempts to find inner peace. Depending on where he is in the cycle he may fight like a champion martial artist or he may fight like a brawler with a death wish.

I agree with Mr.King, although he's lived for a very long time and knows multiple martial arts, he is often a broken, savage and enraged man who fights like an animal and relies on his super healing and extremely sharp and indestructible claws to handle everything. If he was able to control his anger then he could probably be a skilled martial artist

I just turned on winter soldier so hopefully I will be able to find it. I did just do some reading though and it seems like most people think it is a titanium mix. I think it may actually be an Antarctic vibranium though. This would explain why it acts the way it does while not absorbing the vibrations of Ironman’s blast but nullifying Black Panther’s claw attack.

It should be noted that the process to create adamantium was first described by Jim Shooter in a short story titled “This Evil Undying” in the “Marvel Super Heroes” short story collection first published in 1979. It was later adapted in comics form in Avengers v1 202.

You Rock! Subscribed!! You are the only one who has noted that Captain America's shield is NOT just Vibranium but an even stronger alloy of vibranium bonded together with other unknown metals. From what I understand the property of the Vibranium alloy is that attacks Add to it's molecular bonding, i.e. the harder it gets hit, the stronger it gets. - The theory is that the scientist who created the shield wondered how Arctic vibranium could maintain its own structure even though it was a metal itself. He theorized that A-Vibranium must have some sort of "Energy Bonding" property that drew strength from the A-Vibrainiums own radiation. He further theorized that if he could bond some A-Vibranium to another metal that could resist the effects of the radiation like, W-Vibranium, he could give that metal the energy bonding ability. The energy absorbing ability of W-Vibranium together with the "energy bonding" ability of A-Vibranium would make a virtually indestructible material. He was never able to produce that, accidental, bonding again.

This begs the question to me, as to what would happen if you combined both forms of vibranium together, how would that work, and what would it do? Would it have both properties, or neither, or something else all-together? Could they even be alloyed properly like that in the first place? And could ant-artic vibranium's molecular-disoolution ability be used to meld primary adamatium with wakandan vibranium to produce something similiar to captain america's shield again? These are the questions that plague my mind, lol. Also on the subject of adamantium and uru, where adamantium itself is considered to be an alloy using iron, what would happen if you were somehow able to melt-down wrecker's crowbar and use THAT as the base for the adamantium? Would it still contain the magical enchantment that makes it as hard as uru? And would that carry-over to the adamantium made, making it stronger than any normal adamantium? So many Questions!

In same structure Adamantium is tougher its similar to diamond form(exepct that isnt carbon, only metal)....Vibranium is more flexible in use, its lighter and take much more kinetic energry than Adamantium. So Vibranium is stronger in general. Cause vibranium can cutt through adamantium.

Israel Luna well if you compare pure adamantium vs pure vibranium. Then it's adamantium. But if its the Capt. America shield which made up of vibranium + different alloy. Then wolverine's pure adamantium claws will not cut through the Capt shield

@@abhijitdas7416 Well, Captain America's shield is basically vibranium + adamantium, so that's not exactly a fair comparison. Either that or it's just a special form of adamantium that's better than normal. I'm not entirely sure.

I THOUGHT that the reason Vibranium was very durable was because it absorbed energy directed at it and STORED that energy in it's molecular bonds. The more energy directed at it (from various sources- kinetic energy of a strike, radiant energy from a laser, and so on) the stronger its bonding and therefore the sturdier it became. In some cases, the stored energy would be to great, and it would release that energy explosively (as when Thor struck Cap's shield in the Avengers and it leveled them and the forest around them.) Seems like there was an island protected by a dome of Vibranium that was bombed....and it simply exploded like a nuke.
