I just finished watching 45 minutes of movie poster analysis by James Verdesoto. It was educational. But the only poster that I saw that I will remember forever was the one for Anatomy of a Murder. That poster said so little, and yet said so much (perhaps the picturesque movie title made the poster possible.) That poster is still challenging my mind. By comparison most of the other posters were crowded, repetitive, formulaic, uninspired and eyelid-closing. And I don't think the movie Anatomy of a Murder could be as good as its poster, but I still want to see it now, because of the poster.

To all the people complaining about him not going into depth and instead only explaining the obvious: I don’t think he lacks the ability to do that, I think frankly the posters lack the depth to do that. This was a great video but I wish they'd had the new captain marvel poster instead
@comicculture54106 жыл бұрын
They probably filmed this before the new theatrical poster came out.

I’m glad he was honest about the posters that didn’t quite nail it

Literally any Marvel fan could have made a video saying the exact same thing, BUT this guy is a professional.

I love the Mickey Mouse that he draws on Iron Man 2... was that when Disney bought Marvel by any chance...?

What if he didn’t know anything about how posters are set up so he just scribbles everywhere

It's really weird to not do these in chronological order. In almost every case you did sequels first (I guess to show impatient viewers newer things first), but the represenation of the evolution of a character/story arc relative to what came before is a major element of poster design.

Worst posters Homecoming: just lazy and stupid! Infinity War: looks like the inside of a dinosaur, it hurts my eyes! My favorites Antman and the Wasp Guardians of the Galaxy Dr Strange

I think that the best thing to do for Avengers: Endgame would be some sort of recreation of the first Avengers movie poster. Infinity War has too much going on in the poster, and Endgame features a lot of the same characters as the first Avengers.

Not so much "explained" more just describing the posters lol

It annoys me how Ned isn't on the Homecoming poster and Jacob isn't even mentioned although he has a bigger role than Zendaya. I get that she would attract people to watch due to her fame but Ned is too underrated imo

I love that he pointed out pyramids and X’s on the Black Panther poster. Those things are so important to the film. Wow.

Tiffany Thomas yeah, too bad this is a video on the plot of the movie AND NOT the design of the poster... I don’t think the title of this video means what you think it means.
