Great video! If definitely looks pretty easy to use. Between this motherboard and the MSI z790 Tomahawk (DDR5), which one would you pick for an intel i9 13900k? These are the other components of the pc: - corsair 1000w gold plus - rtx 3090 fe - Corsair Vengeance 64 gb RAM 6400 mhz CL32 I'm using the pc mainly for video editing (premiere pro and other adobe software). Thanks!

I do like how Aorus Software Sweet allows you to update the BIOS directly from the Internet straight to the Board without using a USB Flash Drive.

Just got this board. Noticed the big m.2 heatsink (one that says Aorus) has some play in it. I don’t like things not being tight and rattling

It'd be interesting to see how the M.2 latches cope with NVMEs with heatsinks. I can categorically say from experience that M.2 NVME motherboard heatsink is not adequate enough for 3 M.2s nvmes as I had 3 m.2s under a motherboard heatsink on a the X670E Crosshair Hero. In short I had system stability issues on idle when they went above 55 degrees c (one of the nvmes was a gen3). The only solution was to put the seperate heatsinks on the M.2s but since the q latches on the mobo do not support m.2s with heatsinks. I had to replace the latches with nylon stand-offs. Asus blamed me for installing the m.2 motherboard heatsink ontop of the nvme heatsinks when it's not remotely possible - that was their first response when I asked if they could send latches that enabled me to use nvmes with heatsinks. When I pointed out it was not possible to install the motherboard heatsink ontop nvme heatsinks, their response was the motherboard was not designed to support nvme heatsinks. When I asked were Asus categorically limiting users on a £700 motherboard - they completely shut up and have not responded since - to anything. This was before the whole thing the bios on AM5 blew up. I currently have 3 nvmes all gen4 and I have not experience any system instability since replacing the stand-offs. They are glued onto the board and screwed on the underside - removing the screw does not allow you to remove the q latch stand-offs. You have to use a decent amount of force with a u shaped spanner bit that goes on screwdrivers... I ended up replacing them as I accidently slightly over tightened a very smaaaall m2 screw and it broke inside the q-latch stand-off. So, I just replaced all the lower m.2 nvme q-latch stand-offs. The Gen-5 m.2 was not replaced as it has a whoppingly large heatsink on it.

Just bought this motherboard and its great looks good and performs good. Only the bios is a bit complicated for me… and it doesn’t give enough power to my 13900K to get to 6Ghz but that might be silicon lottery or the VRM’s idk im buying a 14900K tomorrow let’s see. Also it can’t run my 96GB DDR5 C32 at 6600MT/s only at 6200MT/s but that might be due to the CPU memory controller aswell. I mean it has 8 layer pcb and stuff so that should help the memory.

246 in / What, no ITX board ?! I am currently, on my daily driver, a Gigabyte B650itx with 7800X3D,and its great,with some tuned GSKill 6000 2x32 at 1.4v 30-38-36-32! 485 tuned ram using Buildzoid timings.

For someone like me who upgrades almost continually part by part, this motherboard makes sense. No point dropping $800 on a board, when I will replace it for a new chipset in 1-2 years, or for some better m.2 feature, etc. Better to buy something that works for a reasonable price. I usually buy Aorus Master, but I really see no point anymore, and will stick with Elite as for a simple 14900k/4090 gamer, there is no reason for a better board. For people who want to overclock for that 0.2% better performance, or who buy computers to see better numbers on overclocking graphs, then maybe drop the 600-800$ for the board with more VRM.

I don't know if others mentioned but the wifi7 win 10 driver doesn't exist. Had to go to win11 with my board..... Weird none of these reviewers are mentioning that.

Dude i just built my damn 13900ks computer like 2 months ago fml I dont reallt care about the cpu gen coming, anything like that, what i do care about is that these new boards all promise amazing ram overclock and stability potential. Getting my 7200mhz stable on strix z790 e was a fucking NIGHTMARE until i magically headed to the right voltage combo sweet spot. Then this stuff comes out promising to beat Apex clockspeeds on a FOUR dimm board Also sucks that the strix-e is so using the cpu based m2 slot lowers the gpu pcie slot to x8

Aorus has been my go to over the years for features and stability. This motherboard the heat sinks look like they might be too tall for an air cooler. I love the placement for the CMOS battery in the bottom right. No more removing the graphics card to replace it.

i‘ve got the X670E Aorus Master, i love the Design and Materials but mine came with a faulty CMOS battery, and ofc. i just noticed it, after i‘ve completed the build, had to take the whole thing apart again and disassemble it to change the battery… takes abour 2 hours, not such a great experience. i came from MSI and i don‘t really like the Gigabyte Bios that much tbh. especially with the mouse sensitivity, i hope it‘s going to be a better experience after the CMOS problem is sorted out.. have a good one!

@HIIMUsc Damn, I heard this mobo in the vid is the top of the line for its category but I've seen so many mixed reviews of drives not downloading, the bios not working properly, and ram usage and wifi for some reason not working as well, others say it works perfectly so idk if I'll end up getting this one or end up getting the msi tomahawk that's a z790, forgot the full name

This may sound like a dumb question about this Wifi MoBo, but WHERE IS THE WIFI? I just got this board, and the drivers wont install, throws an error. device manager says there is an unknown network device listed, but can't update. No settings in BIOS for wifi on/off? Just how do I enable the wifi and what drivers do I need? Ver1.0. thanks

I had the same question! (My Wifi works OK, but I can't help wondering how to replace it when the next gen comes out, or when the BT stops working -- especially since there are so few PCIe slots). I suspect it is hidden very near the antenna connectors.

I can't believe I basically got one of them Z790 boards that were developed with the Intel 14th Gen processor in mind. Wi-Fi is all good and well, but only for inside my own network, which is maximum 6e right now. Bluetooth 5.4 is coming, the biggest improvement there is the disappearing lag for audio. The price I paid was wrong, totally wrong, but thanks Jeff Bezos.

Straight up... if your board doesn't have TOSLink, I'm not gonna' buy it. It's what I use out to my DAC on my main system and it what I use to go to my AVR on my couch gaming system.

So do we still have lane issues making us choose between using the m.2 5 5.0 slot for a 5.0 nvme, or having our gpu @ x16 instead of x8? HOW are these companies advertising like they are? Are ANY of them fully transparent? There's a bunch of, "You can have THIS (or) AND THIS!!!"... It's tiring. I'm not too worried about 4.0 v.s. 5.0, I just want to know where to put my windows-nvme without compromising my GPU's full power... Do you still need (can you use) a thermal contact frame on this? Does that new edge to the socket inhibit the installation of a contact-frame?
