I have a question Doc, does the 20, 20, 20 rule apply with wearing glasses? I mean should I remove glasses after 20 mins staring at a screen to look at distant objects or should I keep them on when resting for 20 sec looking at 20 ft distance?
@AkiraMoon3132 жыл бұрын
That might be dependent on you! The whole point of the 20 20 20 rule is to relax your accommodation after focusing for a while. Sometimes I feel even more relaxed after taking my glasses off, so as long as you’re still not staring at a screen or doing near work it might help! Either way though the rule would still be beneficial!

What is the risk of developing glaucoma after vitrectomy surgery? Is vitrectomy surgery safe for younger age 30+ years?
@Psychiatry.3212 жыл бұрын
Hello, there is usually between 1%-2% risk of developing Complications after any Ocular Surgery and it's not specific to Vitrectomy. Complications (2% risks) after any Ocular Surgery: 1. Retinal Detachment 2. Cataract 3. Ocular Hypertension (if not treated within 2 weeks it induce Glaucoma) 4. infections (many types) 5. Optic Neuropathy (due to toxicity) Note: Most Ophthalmologists will never do it if the patients are young (40 years old or younger) and otherwise their eyes look healthy (Retinal veins, macula, and no Physiological Cupping of the optic nerve).

@@Psychiatry.321 Thanks for the informative reply! I badly need vitrectomy surgery since my floaters are severe and I’m just trying to do much research as possible. Some doctors says the risk of glaucoma is not existent and some say after 5 years I am guaranteed to get glaucoma after vitrectomy surgery.
@Psychiatry.3212 жыл бұрын
@@Halokillzone23 The second opinion is highly likely it happen (source: My dad is a Glaucoma Specialist and working in this field since 1984), i advice you to try Laser Floaters treatment first, then if you are not satisfied you can procced with Vitrectomy just take my word and check this Doctor (Name: The Eye Clinic of Florida / Ahad Mahootchi, MD), He usually do Vitrectomy for patients with highly satisfied rates and you can read the reviews on google.
@Halokillzone232 жыл бұрын
@@Psychiatry.321 yeah that’s what I’m scared of. I had conversation with Dr Johnson down in Texas where he said I’m not a good candidate for YAG laser since my floaters are to close to the retina. I just feel I’m out of options at this point.
@Psychiatry.3212 жыл бұрын
@@Halokillzone23 I hope you can find something that work for you other than surgery since you are still young, Infor: Well Glaucoma is a Neurodegeneration disease starts back from the brain to the eye, which killing the RNFL and their ganglion cells axons by inducing Ocular Hypertension in most cases (according to the last research in late 2019), that means it's Ocular-neurology related. Anyway just contact Dr. Mahootchi, I'm almost sure he can do something to improve your Floaters by at least 70% or more without Surgery, because he is an expert in this field and guess what he invented a surgery called (XEN ® Gel Stent for Glaucoma) and widely used worldwide for Glaucoma treatments.
