WHAT "POINT AND SHOOT" CAMERA DO YOU SHOOT WITH?

Before we get to who tapped in, first let me mention that the x100v isnt the classic 'point&shoot' but... in my opinion its a p&s with some manual capabilities. not as easy as just pointing and shooting but still gives me that vibe when I shoot with it. now.. who tappin in?

Great video bro! I think you bring up a good point in that the x100v might not be considered "point & shoot" because of manual capabilities, but I think that can be solved by flicking on some auto functions. Maybe you feel the same way, but manual is something I'm used to, and it always provides me with the vibe I'm looking for as you say. I think P&S is really more about the size than usability. You ever try the X70? It's an older camera, but it truly is a pocket sized beast. Your x100v photos are awesome. You got the look dialed in on that camera to make it really feel like film, and you also really do that mist filter some justice. The film photos are great in this video, but I feel you on grabbing the x100v more. Digital vs film is trivial and boils down to the mood and the moment. For me, I love shooting on disposable film cameras for parties and camping trips. Don't know if they are more cost effective, but I can pick up a 2 pack from Walmart for cheap lol. I always go back and forth between them and my digital cameras to balance out the universe. Again, great video bro. Looking forward to the next one!

If Fuji had a relative WB compensation like they had a exposure compensation you could get so close to Portra 400 without making constant adjustment. Like if you could say figure out light temp (auto WB) + 2 Warm. Right now you can only select a static temp and color or have 100% auto WB.

Both great cameras, I'd personally lean towards the Fuji. The Contax is just as dependent on what film you're using as who's developing and scanning them. Images from both look great, and film is fun, but Fuji kills it with the balance of digital with film feel. Get some film presets like RNI's that do a good job of simulating and you're set.

The Olympus XA was my first 35mm film camera, 38 years ago, the Ricoh GRv my last, roughly 20 years ago. All Fujifilm these days, with the X70 filling the P&S role. Would probably get a Ricoh GRIII to replace it, should it ever die.

I think in most cases, the choice will be what is often considered trendy by the photographer at that moment. For instance, I don't find using film as trendy and don't put me into any different moods (did film since four decades ago). Of course, other factors will influence the final choice. But, nowadays, a digital P&S make more sense, since its enhanced capability over most film P&S may save the day. For instance, an accidental money shot moment is able to be captured (may be due to extended dynamic range), review and retaken if necessary with a digital P&S.

Please don't drive like that. In all seriousness. At very least recognize that it's not something to boast about. It's hard to get behind your channel when stuff like that pops up. It puts the community at risk and on edge.
@vuhlandes
@vuhlandes 3 жыл бұрын
What are you talking about? This is apart of the culture. This is some that has been done on this block since I was a kid I’m sorry you don’t understand and think it’s my responsibility to censor everyone from it. You don’t like it? Dont watch the channel if it’s so hard to get behind me being who I am. Y’all don’t even know how critical you are of people you don’t know based on what YOU personally value. You can’t talk for an entire community of people you don’t even know. Just say it puts you on edge and you’re uncomfortable because to most of us in this community it’s not an issue. Please get a grip and stop telling people what you think they should be doing. Jeez
@ArthurFellig
@ArthurFellig 3 жыл бұрын
@@vuhlandes Reckless driving is not a part of culture. It is just reckless. These vehicles are huge, heavy, dangerous objects. The people in the neighborhood probably really don't want folks driving like this. Step back and consider the folks in the surrounding area. I'm not trying to get into an argument with you. I follow your channel, and like your work and perspective. I just think that reckless driving isn't cool, and it should be called out as such when it crops up.
@tigerareyouthere
@tigerareyouthere 3 жыл бұрын
@@vuhlandes I love your channel, photography and personality and am rooting for your success. However the reckless driving made me uncomfortable. No context, nada. It was unsettling and distracting. Accidents happen to the most skilled drivers. By including these scenes you are - whether intentionally or not - glamorizing this aspect of the culture. Now I don’t wanna judge or tell you what to do, but in the 50s and 60s many people refused to wear seatbelts and it killed a lot of people. Google ‘Americans went to war against seat belts’. Smoking was also once considered part of a culture and people didn’t wanna hear about the risks involved because they simply liked their smoking breaks too much. It took ages for public opinion to turn around due to the way smoking was portrayed in the media.
@vuhlandes
@vuhlandes 3 жыл бұрын
@@ArthurFellig how are you gonna tell me what’s apart of my culture? In a area I live in? Also the people who live here don’t mind and they’re fine with it. We got the permission of OG’s over here what are you saying? Sliding cars has been a thing since the day of time. Like I said you don’t like it do t watch it.
@ArthurFellig
@ArthurFellig 3 жыл бұрын
@@vuhlandes I don't live in your city. I do live in the inner city, and have almost my entire life. You may feel that the people in the neighborhood don't mind, but I can tell you that people definitely do mind. When people drive like this it is a big f.u. to the neighbors and the neighborhood. It's like the people driving the cars are trying to demonstrate that the don't give a fuck. Well, anyone can not give a fuck. The hard thing to do is to be a part of the community and consider the lives of the others around them and support them. Driving a big heavy high powered vehicle recklssly does nothing for the community. On the contrary it splits it apart.
