Nice, a video just on point and shoots. They’re my favorites and what kicked off my love in photography, so I’ve just been working on my collection of premium point and shoots. Contax T2, Stylus Epic, Yashica T5, Ricoh GR1, Konica Big Mini F and a few more in my ever growing collection. What’s the best about them? Ease of use no doubt. It’s in the name, you just point and shoot. But why I love to collect them? They’ve got history and style in them, and they were definitely important in advancing photography. They might get overlooked now, but the ingenuity that went into packing these small form factor cameras with lots of features pushed photography to new levels when mechanical SLRs were the norm. Watching different brands shape their cameras in different forms with materials like plastic, aluminum, and titanium, and seeing their evolution from featureless consumer market to feature packed pro cameras is why I have them on my wall. I love the Contax T2 for its high end craftsmanship. It’s quite literally the Rolls Royce of point and shoots. I love the Olympus Stylus Epic for its incredibly tiny form factor and speed. The Yashica T5 for its mix of Pro lens with simple features, and it’s famous history alongside fave photographers. The Konica Big Mini line for its unfortunate obscurity as these cameras are just as beautiful and feature packed, but nowhere near the recognition of the others listed. The Ricoh GR1 is my latest add to the collection and I love this one for its pro features, sleek design, and actual 2.8 as an option unlike the T2 for almost half the price. Sorry I had to geek out but point and shoots, those are really my thing. Looking to add the 35ti to my collection next 👀

Love this video! I have a Ricoh R1 that I have with me when I'm doing everyday stuff or going to parties. I plan on talking about it a little bit on my channel, but I love that it doesn't take you out of the moment and how much more comfortable and candid the photos come out as opposed to when you are shooting with a bigger more professional looking cameras

Very true what you said about point and shoots pictures just feelin maybe even a little more nostalgic. Ive also found that my favourite photos of myself are almost all shot with point and shoots. I prefer shooting with my AL-1 most of the time, having the ability to switch lenses etc., but i love the photos my friends take with point and shoots just as much as the ones i take with the bigger camera. At the end of the day how good the photo is comes down to your subject, the mood, composition and not how good your camera is, thats just the tip of the iceberg. greetings from germany

For me, a point n shoot let's me spend time with my kids when we're out instead of metering, looking at screens, taking 20 of the same thing. I love that a p&s let's you focus on the quality of light and composition, while everything else is figured out. Some definitely have better lenses on them and more accurate metering, so I don't fully agree they're all the same.... but thats okay! Photography's rad because you use what works for YOU and your style. Great video man. 👍👍👍
