In my opinion, the lightning reed deserves a spot over pea pod, unlike other plants that can hit several enemies, lightning reeds have more range than other ones like snap dragon and phat beet, on top of that, they can target zombies in 3 different lanes. on their own they aren't that good but they're good when you basically spam them

The reason lightning reed is low is because it’s damage output is low, snap dragons are better for multi lane and pierce AND despite the fact reeds counter chickens, snaps and spike weeds do it much better, so it’s outclassed in every way

@@supC_ Laser beans can be too expensive in these "plan your defenses" levels. Two lightning reeds allow you to cover the whole garden for just 250 sun, while you need 1000 sun for 1 row of laser beans

Again, slightly more effort is needed for jurassic marsh & big wave beach. And lightning reeds' damage is so crap you need way more than 2 to kill basically anything (unless you've maxed them or sthg).

@@supC_ Yeah but like that's my problem with Laser Bean is that you usually are limited to 2 columns of Laser Beans (some levels dont even reach 2000 sun). With 2000 sun, I'm pretty sure 16 Lightning Reeds is just as, if not more, effective than 10 Laser Beans. With Lightning Reed, you only need to plant like 2-4 of em for weaker zombies so that you can use the rest of the sun for other plants that can take down the zombies that neither Laser Bean nor Lightning Reed can (like Magnet-shrooms or explosives idk)

Lightning Reed, if you level it up to level four, becomes strong enough to main line pretty much any level. They're cheap enough to go enmasse in dark ages, and since they chain, more zombies becomes really irrelevant.

My personal top: 7: Chilli Bean-quick,cheap instakiller,very usefull against newspaper zombies,useless against machines and zombies that dont eat it 6:Pea Pod-awesome when it has all the 5 heads,but that is expensive af and takes a long time 5:Tall nut-a shitton of health but its expensive and still can take only 1 hit from gargantuars,when primal nut is cheaper and resists 3 hits 4:Split Pea-usefull against prospectors and or Swashbuckers/Relic Hunters,or against Imps trown by gargs. That's why I love Lightning Reed. Its low damage may make it a bad plant at first, but is one of the best when spammed. Killing chickens isn't the only job it does well, but it's really GREAT when spammed infinitely.

7: Pea Pod is way too expensive. Outside of its home world it is pointless to use. Just don't use it. 6: Chili Bean isn't terrible. It's just that there are so many better options. Potato Mine is cheaper, Primal Potato Mine is just insane, Squash kills multiple at once, Hypno Shroom gets them on your side, Jalapeno destroys an entire lane and Cherry Bomb clears a 3x3 area without the setup time like Primal Potato Mine. Yeah Chili Bean stuns zombies behind the zombie who ate it but Jalapeno kills them all just use that instead. 5: Split Pea is weird. It is a Repeater at the back but a Peashooter at the front. His main purpose is killing the Prospector Zombie but when you then get Winter Melon a bit later it just defuses the dynamite. Still it's better than Peashooter since it has a secondary purpose. 4: Tall Nut has ridiculous defense starting at 8,000 double a Walnut's. It has a secondary purpose though being flying zombies. They can't pass a Tall Nut like they can a Walnut. Still though, Blover and Primal Walnut are better than it. 3: Lightning Reed will definitely be controversial. I've messed around with it and it is more powerful than it seems. It is especially good in Plan Your Defense levels where if you get three or four rows of them they can easily kill Conehead and Buckethead zombies. Unlike most attacking plants, it damage around 3 or 4 zombies at once so it can take out groups quite easily. Not better than other plants but certainly a solid one. 2: Melon-Pult is incredible. It costs 325 sun but deals splash damage in a 3x3 area and deals a lot of damage. It is incredibly powerful in any level if you have good sun production you can spam these things to destroy Newspaper zombies and the Robots. 1: Winter Melon is Melon-Pult but with the chill effect. One row and you destroy Bucketheads and Newspaper zombies. Yes 1 Winter Melon costs 500 sun but if you create a row of these then spam Melon-Pults for cost efficiency you can destroy Gargantuars and All-Star zombies. They are too overpowered.

Wild West Ranking 7. Pea Pod- It takes 625 sun to plant all pea pods in a row and even 3125 sun on all lanes with full peas and doesn't even save offense on minimum plant count levels 6. Tall-nut- Double the amount on defense and sun but can also die instantly by gargs, punk zombies, glitter zombies and others. At least it stops imps, jetpacks and balloon zombies from going too far. 5. Split Pea- Good for Prospecters, Fan Imps and Shovel Zombies(when planted behind the shovel zombies). Not that good on damage in the front but is decent for a bit until any chilling plant arrives. 4. Chili Bean-Good for zombies that aren't machines, gargs, punks, Glitters, MC Zom-b's and Shovels. Its function works on zombies that eat plants. 3. Melon-pult- Good for groups of zombies but is expensive and not impactful on a zombie that's stronger than a conehead. 2. Lightning Reed- Good for Groups of zombies, Cheap, spammable but works only in groups that are weaker than bucketheads. 1. Winter-melon- Only Flaw is the sun cost but its worth it. Can extinguish dynamites from prospecters, torches from both torchlight and torch zombies and dynamites on fan-imps. P.S: This is just my opinion. Don't take it too seriously.

Here's my list: 1) Winter-melon: He may be the most costly plant but still the strongest one. Weakness: parasol zombie and jester zombie 2) Melon-pult: Cheaper than his icy counterpart and he's pretty solid. Weakness: parasol zombie and jester zombie 3) Lightning reed: Not gonna underestimate him for good. He may seem fragile at a glance but once you level up, he can be fatal. He can also deal with shovel zombie, parasol zombie and jester zombie since he's like a strikethrough plant. 4) Tall-nut: Pretty handy when it comes to bull rider zombie, flying zombies and others. Early game is okay but later on, you could use infi-nut with its plant food effect or primal wall-nut due to better capabilities. 5) Split pea: Pretty good when it comes to prospector zombie and jurassic marsh too. 6) Pea pod: I had no idea how to use that plant at first glance but I found out that I needed 625 sun to make a full setup per plant. Might be good in wild west because of minecart but it's still too pricey to have it in every lane, so cheaper plants can outshine it in late game. 7) Chili bean: While it can eliminate buckethead zombie and brick zombie, it's still useless in certain worlds (e.g. far future), so squash is way better.

I'm back for more listing 7. Pea Pod: Too hard to set up 5 heads. There is a niche in Pea Pod being a heavy hitter but you might as well use Citron. Plant food effect is solid though. 6. Split Pea: It has the niche of hitting prospectors and zombies being carried by pterodactyls. Other than that, it is mostly redundant. 5. Tall-nut: Its niche over two wall-nuts are being able to block flying zombies. Other than that, I feel its not worth using outside two wall-nuts due to its cost. 4. Chilli Bean: It is a kill-one zombie that eats it. The gas can also be used for support as well. The likes of grimrose makes competition against chilli bean. 3: Lightning Reed: Very underrated. Needs to be spammed but has great spread damage, especially once it reaches level 5. You can give it a boost with fila-mint. There are other splash-damage plants out there however. 2: Melon-Pult: While it needs some help in setup, it can deal some heavy damage. A very good plant. 1: Winter-Melon: Everything said about melon-pult but it can chill zombies. It is more expensive but the rewards are well worth it.

I agree with this list. I think pea pod is just outclassed by some attacking plants. Split pea is a fair spot. Tallnut isn’t bad, but other plants are better in my opinion. Chilli bean is useful early game. Lightning reed is perfect when spammable. Melon pult has great damage. Winter melon’s ability to chill groups of zombies is useful for huge crowds and the damage is good.

Here it is: 1. Winter Melon: its price almost made me prefer Melon-pult, but it remains one of the best plants in the game 2. Melon Pult: a very solid plant, who received a little nerf from the first game 3. Lightining Reed: upgrade it, spam every lane, and see the chaos. also, I like its Plant food. 4. Chili Bean: A good alternative to Potato Mine, I guess 5. Tall nut: I don't like much using defense plants in this game, as instant plants usually solve the problems. 6. Lightning Reed: *B tier* It's because it is because it can attack many targets at once (despite its low damage). It just sits at the bottom of the B tier. Pea Pod: E tier because by itself it sucks. With four it's a Gatling Pea. It's not too good but it's okay. Split Pea: I think it's...C? Tall-nut: B (can be A) Chili Bean: Bottom of D tier because zombies have to devour it (except future ones) It also sucks against zombies that don't eat plants. Not a favorite, but it's okay Melon-pult: B/A because it's strong and worth its sun cost Winter Melon: S (despite its sun cost)

heres another list by me 7: Chili bean. i have never liked this plant. for 1 it involves fart humour out of all things, and 2 it's just bad. also the plant food is a prepackaging of another plant food. 6: Lightning reed. this plant is not very good since it doesn't do much damage to zombies but you can cook up some KFC with it. 5: Split pea. for the first og plant in any of my lists to be in the top 5 it had to be split pea, it is sort of good but i just don't use it often unless i need to use it. 4: Tallnut. this is basically if a wallnut used a super mushroom. 3: PeaPod. i don't know why people don't put peapod in the top 3 considering the fact that if you get it to 4-5 heads it becomes a Gatling pea. 2: Melon pult. if this was a pvz 1 roof plants list than melon pult would be the top of the list but it got over done by it's frozen brother here. 1: Winter melon. this thing is just broken.

I enjoyed your pirate seas, I mean, Wild West list, and yes, Winter melon is definitely the best one, especially since upgrading it lowers its cost so the biggest issue is reduced and it’s strengths get strengthened. I do think L Reed is better than pea pod since pea pod is just too expensive to use well and it only rlly is good in Wild West and piñata parties. The L Reed can be useful in other worlds, such as it’s plant food, upgrade cycle and chain attacks

My ranks for this world: 7: Pea Pod: I almost never use this thing and I only use it on levels where I'm required too. Just wayy to much sun for its potential 6: Split Pea: Helpful in more situations than the Pea Pod but still, not the best 5: Chili Bean: Really helpful to take out a hard to kill zombie so I have to give it points for saving me at times. Still, there are better alternatives 4: Tall Nut: While I hardly use it, its still very useful as it takes more damage and blocks fliers. Great but to me I'd rather use the Infi Nut 3: Lightning Reed: There is nothing more awesome than seeing those annoying ass chickens and weasels get shocked to death. Neat plant food effect too 2: Melon Pult: Heavy damage and has definitely helped me out in the tougher levels. Possibly one of the best lobbers and I do like lobbers over shooters 1: Winter Melon: Just like the Melon Pult only it has the added effect of slowing down zombies. Very useful, you're almost guaranteed to win with this thing

I finished Wild West two days ago and I was lazy to post my ranking, just me procastinating again. 7. Pea Pod: What exactly is this plant useful for? I know that ideally is suitable for minecarts but even then, with this world being one of the first and easier ones, the pace of it is fast and you can't plant as many heads as you like before the level is finished. That's exactly my main concern here, I never got to unlock this plant to its full potetntial because of how hard it is to do that. Not to mention that it's both underwhelming (essentially, with only head it's nothing more than a Peashooter clone with 25 more sun, and if you manage to plant 2 heads then it will become a Repeater clone with 50 more sun and so on) and overwhelming (it takes 625 sun to finish planting the heads, and that is just for one lane). Overall, you shouldn't bother with this plant. It basically does nothing except for wasting your precious sun. I bet Gatling Pea would be a much better choice if it weren't seedium. 6. Lightning Reed: Okay, this is a pretty controversial one. This plant is what divides the PvZ2 fandom naturally, without getting into any rhetorical questions. In the eyes of the fandom, you can either love or hate this plant, there's no in-between. But guess what? My summarized opinion on this plant is just, neutral leaning towards dislike. Let me explain. It does its job well, it's a good counter against chickens for it fires faster than most offensive shooters in the game and can attack up to three lanes, it can be good when levelled-up or spammed (ha-ha captain obvious moment). But with thay said, the main downside of this plant is its damage; 10 DPS, lower than the average Peashooter. In fact, that alone makes it pretty underwhelming and nothing more than a support plant in accordance to most players, and that's understandable. Overall, pretty okay but unreliable most of the time. 5. Split Pea: Pretty much one of the most, how to word this, "average" plants in the game. It's pretty gimmicky but it's a unique concept. It was introduced in the first place as a counter against Propspectors, but that's immediately outdone by Water Melon (although that one is unlocked right before Wild West's last level so I guess I'll cut Split Pea some slack?). I'm sure there's more to this plant though, such as countering zombies going through slider tiles and dodo riders, both in the Frostbite Caves world, and the two infamous pair in Lost City, and much more. Of course, Frontie is gonna have to struggle with the zombies behind the plant, but what you can do is just plant a defensive nut and that's it. 4. Chilli Bean: Better than Potato Mine, I might say. Doesn't have an aiming time at all and is reusable. Also, it can stun zombies that are behind the zombie it is targetting, which is indeed a nice touch. Also, his plant food power creates three duplicates of him, while the Potato Mine's creates only two duplicates (minor detail but yeah). In short, it's a decent bean, unlike Spring Bean. 3. Tall-Nut: Useful against many threat such as the flying zombies and bull riders and the like (which is pretty much what it was introduced for anyway). What I don't like about this plant however, is that it costs more than two Wall-Nuts despite being exactly twice as strong as the average Wall-Nut, another sun cost problem (check out my position for the Twin Sunflower in the Ancient Egypt ranking for reference). Otherwise, not much to say here, very versatile and effective as its situational job. 2. Melon-pult: The second best catapult plant (I can't speak for the premiums) in this game, right behind... you know who. Basically the "Gatling Pea" version of Cabbage-pult. RIGHTFULLY expensive but recharges fast, 80 DPS, 40 splash DPS. What more could you ask for? 1. Winter Melon: Melon-pult but with the freezing effect added. Extremely overpowered bitch. Easily the best plant in the entire game.

pea pod reigns arena and penny’s persuit this days, combined with torchwood and pea vine on both and even buffed zombies won’t stand their ground, then there’s appease mint which makes the peas so powerful even zombosses and arena buffed mini bosses never stood a chance without immunity, pea pod even better than mega gatling as mega gatling is a whole pack meaning it isn’t early game friendly unlike pod whose power escalates and depends on you and also being a free vs premium pea pod will be at higher level unless you spend money on gatling.

In pvz 2, puff-shroom is mainly used to clear the slightly rushed early-game instead of spamming it. Similar to Potato Mine.

My list 7. Split pea (Besides Jurassic Marsh there is no purpose of using this plant outside the world it was introduced in) 6. Peapod (A unique type of Peashooter but an expensive one to get to it's full potential so a lot of the times it's not worth using 5. Tallnut (It's only more useful to use the nut than the walnut if there are low flying zombies other than that there's no point in using it as it has the same problem as the pea pod) 4. Lightning reed (Even though on it's own or have a couple of them they suck but if you like spam them they are crazy good and as an attacking plant for it's sun cost is actually kinda cheap) 3. Chill bean (A decent instant killing plant that also stuns the zombies in a lane, even though it's not the best plant compare to the other ones it deserves to be on this spot) 2. Melon-pult ( High splash damage on zombies, definitely worth it's price) 1. Winter melon ( What I said about the melon pults but has a chilling affect)
