I think paint clogging centers from the late 90's and early 00's deserve more love on this platform. LL is the king of that breed, being the starting center on 3 straight finals teams. He also broke the Aussie barrier in the NBA, being the first of his countrymen to make the league. Luc Longley is a Trailblazer and deserves your respect.

he did a good job. In the last season of that three peat he really stepped up when Pippen was out.

Luc was underrated. Always gets me when people bag on him and Cartwright, but they were good players for those Bulls teams.

I feel like people respected Luc at center in Chicago more than the Cartwright years. Luc was overall more skilled, but I agree people act like Cartwright was a scrub and he was not. Rewatching Luc, his skillet is really impressive so agree with underrated.

He was 7'2" and Phil Jackson wanted him. You say right place at the right time and I say perfect fit. He was the starting center on a team that had one of the greatest 3 year runs ever. He made clutch plays throughout that 3 peat run.

Just realized he didn't score in game 6 of the 97 Finals, either. And Jordan shot 15/35 in both game 6s. And the Jazz's total scoring output was 86 both times. Talk about history repeating itself.

Pau Gasol as well as Scottie Pippen, Tony Kukoc, Andrew Bynum, Rick Fox, and Steve Kerr too. There is that 3rd guy on the Lakers during Kobe Bryant's heyday who won rookie of the year with the Clippers. He was from New York City... Lamar Odom! These would be great to do particularly to highlight the Triangle Offense in the NBA Finals. Non Isolation players only. Everyone has done Jordan and Kobe Bryant, but they often eschewed the nuances and intricacies of the Triangle Offense for a one on one isolation.maybe Jordan and Kobe Bryant abiding by the principles.and getting their points by using the flow of the triangle offense! Please do those pretty please.

He did what a great center would do. All around play. Get the offensive and defensive rebounds, follow up missed shots, block shots, assists, defend the middle lane and contribute on points.

Wow. What a way to take a simple point and distort the original intent! I was a Bulls fan and wouldn't have traded him. But when Phil relocated to LA in 1999, he could have pulled Longley over and backed Shaq up and it would have been a great concoction. Next time someone says something theoretical, give it a full moment of objectivity before responding.

@@stoltobot then he would have trouble defending outside shot, outside the paint. I insist, he was an ok center and in todays game he would be still ok, but if you want to put him like a dominant force, like MVP caliber in todays game, well, he ain't got the skill set, like Jokic by example, to be that dominant.

Before they decided to take EVERYTHING GREAT about it away in THEIR EXTREMELY PATHETIC ATTEMPT TO REPLICATE HIS AIRNESS & THE CHICAGO BULLS ... Stadium Attendance, Merchandise Sales, Ratings ALL DECREASED! I love THIS GAME! Great NBA Advertisement ... THEN. If I want to watch someone shoot H.O.R.S.E., D.O.G., D.A.W.G. ...
