Nadal vs Ferrer, Barcelona 2012 Final. One of the most quality matches I've seen on clay, which included the longest set ever won by Rafa (1h33)!

How many set points did he save in that first set?

Their first set in 2012 Rome also high quality but doesn't know the duration

What. A. Match. Total gladiator battle. Two legends of Spain duking it out. This is about as RAW as clay court tennis gets and I absolutely love everything about it. I miss Ferrer, but I am happy with Alcaraz, Busta, Bautista-Agut and Fokina. Playing phenomenal tennis. Thanks for providing this video. Was a fantastic watch

Clay is the best surface to watch imo, because of the long rallies most of the time

Guys, the amount of racquet head speed and spin nadal was putting into the ball is just tooooo insane. I dont remember seeing him put such intense effort hitting as he did here. Esp in the second set.

Rewatch the Australian Open 2009 semi-final match between Nadal and Fernando Verdasco. One of the most intense and best matches ever! 5 sets, and then Rafa played 5 sets against Federer in the final as well. The Verdasco match was a better match though.

@@jayraq4882 are you serious, in 2009 nadals forehand sucks
@jayraq488216 күн бұрын
@@miljkoni3404 Is that right? He won his first 5 AO matches without dropping a set that year. Pretty hard to do that and win a back to back 5 set semi-final against Verdasco (5hrs 14m), who played an unbelievable match and then win a 5 set final against Federer with a sucky forehand, don't you think? I think maybe you should rewatch those matches again. 😃 Even if his forehand wasn't perfect the best players persevere, like the 2023 Aussie Open, when he came back from 2 sets down and I think 2-4 in the 3rd to beat Medvedev in 5. In March of 2009, he beat Djokovic, for his 12th consecutive Davis Cup win. He won the Indian Wells Masters, then both the, Monte Carlos and Barcelona Masters 5th year in a row, won the Rome Masters for the 4th year in a row. Was injured in the French, had tendonitis in both knees and his parents had announced just before RG that they were getting a divorce. First year he lost a match in the French after winning the prior 32 consecutive sets. He had to pull out of Wimbledon because of the injury. In Dec he won his 14th consecutive Davis Cup match. Pretty good year for for having a sucky forehand, finished #2 in the world.

The ball is bouncing pretty high, but you must admit this is not the slowest clay court you've seen.
@SJ-di5zu3 жыл бұрын
Clay has sped up significantly since 2009 or so. If it was as slow as it was 2005-08, Nadal would probably be even more dominant.
@podvig32703 жыл бұрын
@@SJ-di5zu why is that so. I mean why they have speed it up

@federicoinnocente3 жыл бұрын
Yeah but on the other hand hard and ESPECIALLY grass court have become much slower.
@radilev19962 жыл бұрын
The clay is now pretty similar to hard with the exception of the sliding part which is why Nadal still prefers it over hard. The sliding thing is what allows him to cover the court better.

imagine Ferrer had Nadal serve, would easily have more slams than Murray
@Vipa567 Жыл бұрын
lol no way and it's not like Murray had a great serve and he achieved far more than Ferrer.
