i've commented this before but i'm a fan of psx i grew up with it even blew alot of money to mod the ps1 but sony is just a money hungry asshole these days, most psp is proprietary memory card with bad controls and you need a hack to use a sd, on switch it already takes sd and is parntered with hori one of the most famous fight stick companies ever so you can play tekken/sf etc

For jak and daxter, I've found you don't even need an overclock. Just turn down the resolution and bump up the FPS lock to 30 and its smooth enough. This might be the case for the other remasters with lack luster performance. Unfortunately, Jak II and III don't have frame limiter codes yet, as far as I know.

heh, funny enough because of lockdown i was gearing up to stay inside for months so i looked for these games at a used game store, found all of them, and i mean all mentioned in this video, and walked up to the cashier and he recognized all the games and asked if i was turning my ps vita into a ps2. we had some small chit chat about what our favorite ps2 games were and it was great.

These games were actually marketed well. They were released alongside or close to the release of their ps3 counterparts. Persona 4 Golden was a vita exclusive until 2020. These were official releases that came on cartridges and they aren’t hidden on the store at all lol. I have most of them and they don’t run that badly.

I don't think ps2 emulation is as far fetched as some think. I suspect the reason RaC collection performs so much better than JaD collection is because it was a true port. Such little investment was made on development in JaD its possible its more emulation than a port. Consider how performance of these games are unrelated to graphical fidelity, which feels like another sign there's a bunch of emulation going on.

Technically those are called game ports. To call them ps2 games is incorrect since they run natively on the vita. Similar ps2 ports were also made for the psp, Tony Hawk and Burnout series for example.. this is old news

@Paul C I mean, it can't really run RE Revelations 2 very well, but that's due to extremely poor optimization on Capcom's part rather than hardware limitations. If the Vita can run Uncharted: Golden Abyss, Killzone: Mercenary, and Danganronpa Another: Ultra Despair Girls, it can easily run Resident Who 4, especially since that game was originally designed for the GameCube and the Vita is significantly more powerful than the Wii and PS2.

What I also did was in Adrenaline I took all the PSP games that I know that are also on the PS2 (excluding the ones that were exclusive to the PSP first and than ported to the PS2) and put all these games in a separate folder called "PS2 Games".

@@MattTheWab Warriors and other PS2 games that came out on the PS2 were watered down versions of the PS2 game, but the ones on the Vita are pretty much the "Full" version on the Vita, a lot less watered down although still slightly watered down. A new Vita would easily be able to Fully Emulate the PS2 and even Port some of the PS3 Library. The Switch is like a customized Flagship Tablet or Phone and there are even PS2 emulators on Android, they don't run very well but most emulators are non profit, imagine if Sony threw some money at their own PS2 emulator and maybe even PS3 emulator for a new handheld.

The Ratchet and Clank collection works fine. I just foud some sound glitches in the first game, like the planet´s music plays even in zones that is supossed to change and some weapons/ gadgets don´t sound as the ps2 version. I didn´t notice any issues in the other two games.

It might be a stretch, but Persona 3 Portable for the PSP could also be considered a “PS2” game. It originally came out on the PS2, but got a remake on the PSP. Granted, the graphics are worse and it’s missing the “Answer” portion that P3FES has, but it will run on the Vita and PSTV.

I’m not sure, but the original versions of GOW had slowdowns as well , so can’t really fault the vita there,so 7 collections , are these really the only ps2 games on the vita ..... I would have though that they parted over more than these few , all gold but still makes up with an entire ps one catalog as well as the entire psp catalog and a lot cross platform games from the ps4 , so yeah this was a golden piece of Valhalla that was taken away from us way to soon.
