It's an overlooked aspect of it, but it's pretty impressive that Roethlisberger won all 3 of his 500 yd games. So many 500 yd games come in blowouts when a QB is just throwing for their lives, trying to get back in it and picking up a couple hundred extra yards in garbage time when the other team is in prevent defense for the last quarter and a half of the game.

Imagine throwing for 505 yards in the Superbowl and doing it with short white receivers and gronk and loosing because your head coach decides to bench the cornerback who had started EVERY game the past 3 years and then that coach thinking he doesn't owe anybody anything. How's the unemployment line bill?
@anonymike82806 ай бұрын
What's with the white bashing? Here's an assignment. What are the salient abilities of the white receivers that are less common in the black receivers? I've seen this done in other sports and thought the accounts were accurate and well thought out. I haven't watched enough football in the last decade to go deep on this topic, but one thing I do think is that the white receivers are better at catching the low ball and better at coming back to the ball. Both of these things probably reduce the risk of interceptions in that they affect the type of ball the QB has to throw. But you're the big expert, jack. You break it down.
@mikewood85614 ай бұрын
You need to let it go bro. I'm a Patriots fan too and that was the dumbest thing I've ever seen Bill do in his coaching career. I was pissed off before the game even started. Still don't know why he benched him but you gotta move on bud. Give forgiveness and have a blessed day!

Props to those that achieved this major accomplishment pre-1990. Defenses were brutal 3+ decades ago vs what they are allowed to do in today’s video game, offense dominated NFL. Much, much easier to do in the modern NFL where rules are heavily favored towards the QB and receivers!

I've watched a lot of football in the last 50 years, both NFL and college, and for my money, it didn't get better than watching Drew Brees. Even when he played for Purdue, you knew he was gonna be great. They call Tom Shady the GOAT and, when it comes to the Super Bowl, he's definitely the GOAT BUT, when it comes down to throwing the ball and being a QB, Brees owns every QB that's ever put on a jersey. He had 12 seasons where he had at least 4k passing yards and 5 of those years, he had 5k passing yards. If Tom Shady hadn't played so long or gotten away with as much as he did, Brees would still be at the top of the record books where he belongs. Because of steroid use, Barry Bonds has an asterisk next to his HR records. Tom Shady deserves asterisk with all of the scandals he got caught up in and found to be cheating. I know I just pissed off every Patriots and Tom Shady fan out there but Tom Shady was a diva, a punk. What other QB has made it so you can't hit the QB more than Shady? He's lucky he didn't play upwards of 10 years earlier... He would have been crying during warm ups about the looks he was receiving BEFORE he was even hit. Tom Shady is the GOAT when it comes to SB rings AND getting the league to implement everything he cried about... Drew Brees went out, took his lumps without whining, without cheating and without the zebras seeing it his way. That's what makes Drew Brees the GOAT

100% agree. Brees is the best to ever do it, at least until Mahomes surpasses him.

@@dfp_01 the crazy part is, Brees was one missed, BLOWN call away from a second Super Bowl and a 2nd ring... AND I can't figure out how the hell he never won an MVP 🤔 With his numbers, he should have won a FEW of them. Look... Manning, Rodgers and Shady are great QB's but let's be honest... Brees had the numbers to beat them in MVP races. Sounds like a conspiracy to me... Focusing on the CON

@atg1338 hsitorically bad defenses and getting shafted on def in playoffs.
