I like how you say "over a year" like that's a long time. A year where I live is fast. There's a road near me that's been in the process of getting widened since 2016 and still is only 2/3 done. Edit: I should clarify, that is entirely *WAY* too long for the work that is required. Even just the year you described shouldn't take that long, but with the lack of work being done, a year is a lot less time than normal. I'm amazed your road work takes that little amount of time because of that.
@redplanet27202 жыл бұрын
@@mrgw98 It's been longer but I can't remember when they started. And a year is a long time to reduce a 100kph highway that is the main road everyone uses to 80kph over a stretch dozens of K's long, through several exits, especially when no one ever works there and there's speed cameras in the 80 zone. It is a huge pest for everyone in the area. I wouldn't mind if anyone actually worked there and they got the job done quick, but as I said, I drive past multiple times daily and no one is ever working there and it's been that way for months at this point. @mace8873 Жыл бұрын
Well, I live in Denmark, which is just about as far from Australia as you can possibly get without leaving the planet, and it's the exact same damn thing up here - for some odd reason, the powers that be have decided on a tradition of blocking off various streets regularly, so you constantly have to find a new and interesting route to work. Now don't get me wrong, I'm sure there are many beautiful buildings etc. to look at while you're stuck in yet another totally unpredictable traffic jam, and I'm sure it builds character trying to convince yourself not to get out of the car and fly into an exceptionally violent fit of road rage while everyone around you are just as pissed and equally sick and tired of the whole thing, but it seems to me that they _could_ wait to block off the streets until they _actually_ have some lazy sod in a high vis. vest to stand around doing fuck all... Being stuck in traffic, because some muppet has decided to put up a barricade 6 months in advance just adds insult to injury. Reckon we could learn a thing or two from the Japanese, as far as I know, those guys have got road repair down like no one else.
