An Rx-8 is like a distant relative that nobody talks about...still family though...🤔 excited to follow the rebuild/modifications!

Mine was also $1500 USD. Same story as far as the engine too. I nabbed a spare engine from the wrecker and I'm almost done putting it back together. It's my first engine teardown, build, and swap EVER. +1 sub. This will be fun.

Nice! I have swapped an S5 turbo motor into an S4 chassis with the help of Mazdatrix driveshaft and I had to plow the internet forums for a walkthrough on the wiring. Only 2 people said it was possible out of hundreds of nae sayers. I had to use both of there diagrams and factory pin outs. Got it! Love the rotary!

Awesome, I didn't know you could swap them.. thanks Nick. Dream car would be an FD of some form... one day.

Nice vid Brendon. Would be really keen to see how/where you store and log all the numerous bits that came off the car. Do you take lots of photos of who the engine bay is before dismantling the ancilliaries? Hey, may be you could do an engine swap with a V8 going into the RX8 and the rotary going into an MX5!!!!! Now that would be really interesting ¦x¬D
@LifeWithAnAspie5 жыл бұрын
I agree.. would love to see a straight six actually in the car, no need to cut the firewall.

The back seats are actually quite roomy for a coupe. Even a tall bloke like u would fit easily.

If youve taken the rotary out your already half way to an LS Swap... and four coil packs make it 55% of the way.

Yeh, MX5's twin or something. By crikey, haven't seen that much "bling" on a motor since the '80s. Vacuum lines and hoses and valves and wires and.........stuff
@Bbeavis5 жыл бұрын
Yep, a LOT of "stuff" on the engine.

Guess I’m lucky, I’m Texas you can find them for 3-4K all day
@Bbeavis5 жыл бұрын
4k USD? That;s still quite a bit, as I mentioned this car was 1,5K AUD, so only about 1000USD. A good running car will fetch 5-6k AUD which isnt car off your 3-4k USD.
@fjord-45115 жыл бұрын
I meant a clean, low miles will go for 3-4K usd, in Texas everyone has a ton they’re tryna get rid of so you see some with only 60k miles going for 3500 - 4500
@_i-kr6eg5 жыл бұрын
What 5k or more too much and the engine cost thousands if you haven't a clue about cars or engines not too mention a rotary is not an normal engine so most haven't got a clue . Just got a another e30 bmw for 800 aus and its a coupe too no engine or gearbox but ill be doing a conversion soon
