Honesty I think this season was still pretty good I know some people found it disappointing after season 4 but I think it handled the aftermath fairly well and Jordan Chase was one of my favourite villains. my only issue with the season was writing out Astor and Cody early on as Dex actually had a sweet relationship with them and following him trying to be a single dad to them while they all try to recover from their grief could have been a good storyline imo. But writing them out and leaving Dex with a baby which has no personality or character was just the worst writing choice tbh as a baby may as well be a sack of bricks writing wise lol.

Ikr? I loved them together so much. Seasons 6-8 would have been better off had she stayed around. No freaking Hannah McKay to ruin Dexter's character. But of course, Dexter isn't allowed to have true happiness in his life, so they had to force Lumen out of his. 🙄 All we have is fanfiction for it now.

In my opinion, she was much better for Dexter than Rita was because he could actually be himself around Lumen. He was constantly running around and hiding stuff from Rita just like he does with Deb.

it makes complete sense. lumen isn’t a psychopathic serial killer like dexter. she’s just a regular woman who had her life turned around and needed revenge not a need to kill in general. she had to continue her life leaving this behind including dexter

Lumen was perfect for Dexter. I never liked Rita right from the first seen. That goodie two shoes didn't work for me. She was a gold digger. Every time she said thank you Dexter she received something in return. Lumen a strong woman!

Dexter and Lumen were fucking perfect man.. I just hated the fact that Jennifer Carpenter got jealous of her so the showrunners decided to write her off to not risk losing Deb's actress. But in reality, Dexter and Lumen were the best. She was miles better than Hannah and would've been a better mother to Harrisson as well.

That's not what happened. She only signed on for one season. The producers ASKED her to return for season 6, but she went on to do Riviera for three seasons, then Silver Lining Playbook and five other movies. Jennifer Carpenter was never jealous of her, so I don't know where you got that bit from... Julia's main reason for leaving the show was that it's pretty much trope that anyone close to Dexter ends up getting killed, so they wrote her out in a good way, she got her revenge, the need left her, she went home. Period. This is from a direct interview with her and those are her answers to the questions.
