My god, her songwriting is just so impeccable. The imagery, the poetry. She KILLS me! I love her so much.

"That's where the pain comes in Like a second skeleton Tryin' to fit beneath the skin I can't fit the feelings in" Hurts so bad, but is such a relief at the same time. This song is a masterpiece.

It saddens me to think that in the vastness of this universe there are still sentient beings that have never experienced the pure emotional beauty of Fiona. As a species we should feel blessed that we were here at just the right moment to hear, to feel, to absorb this majestic being. I can only hope she decides to reside upon this blue speck of dust we call home. But you never know because Fiona Has Wings.

I saw Fiona Apple open up for Counting Crows at the State Theater in New Brunswick, NJ about 20 years ago and she was as magnificent and brilliant a performer then as she is today. I really do need to see her live in concert again. She's such an amazing songwriter, and as unique and amazing a live performer as you will find. When you find an artist who let's their soul, their spirit, their pain, their love, and the wild madness of life shine through in their performance, you just want to latch on and go along for that ride. So many artists who shine so brightly burn out so fast and leave us. And then someone like Tom Waits, or Nick Cave, or Fiona Apple comes along and we find they take the long road with all the rest of us, singing aloud the secret songs we sing to ourselves only in the silence and safety of our souls. Do not pass by, traveler, unheeding such troubadours when they cross your path.

I saw her at the State Theater too! Probably a year or two before you did. She had only one album out and I think she opened up for Blues Traveler. I didn't see her in concert again until she came to Orlando FL to open up for Coldplay in an arena! I felt like I was Fiona's biggest fan there. She sounded great, her band too (especially the drummer). ....Time is a funny thing.....

Fiona Apple is so gifted as a singer , pianist and songwriter . Somehow she flies under the radar of great artists of our time . I'm ok with that as long as she is . She's our extraordinary machine , strong and tough , soft and frail . She wears it well . Thanks for your music . Look forward to more .❤

I feel blessed to have found this song when I did. I had a second close relationship collapse recently mostly due to my inability to be friends with my brain and communicate clearly what I feel instead of accepting defeat from the start and/or having to lie and manipulate in order to present stability. The lyrics to this song and it's musical dynamics help me feel normal and give me hope that I can maintain steady healthy relationships without being scared or hopeless despite my personality disorders question the motive of every word I choose to speak. The worst thing in the world is feeling all alone and deceived by your own mind. You can no longer trust the only thing that makes you you. Every single nights a fight or alight with my brain. Sometimes it's a guessing game. AND I want to feel everything and make a true connection with everyone around me. I have absolutely no idea if her lyrics have one tiny shred to do with how I interpret it (don't crush my thought if you actually know). Lol. Thanks, Fiona. You make me feel less alone when I need my brain to leave me alone. Your artistic style, power, confidence, and refusal to make concessions in how you present yourself to the world inspire me deeply.
