I honestly put Sly 2 in 1st place because it was the longest game and some of the moments can hit you in the feels like when Bentley lost Sly and Murry because of Neyla Murry losing his van and the rebirth of Clockwork sort of i mean a lot of story telling in that game

Interesting bro my fav was sly 2 personally I loved the recon missions it was a different approach for its era. Sly 3 would be my number 2, I dnt like the fact that they dnt have bottles. And for some reason I feel like the color pallet used when making the game is better on 2 then 3. I had overall better fun on 2 dnt get me wrong 3 was amazing but 2 was my favorite.

Personally i liked playing as Panda King but great list, really 2 or 3 can go either way for me but this was great. Love to see a boss ranking for this series if your considering it

I agree with 100% with everything from Penelope character development in the 4th game being the worst thing about the game with sly 3 being sly 2 but better also your very good as Bentley also fun fact David scully who voiced Dimitri also voiced rajan, octavio, and lefwee.

Overall I agree with your take on this. I do like Sly 1 more than 4, but that was my first experience with the franchise playing it at a cousins house. I remember it so vividly, I was so bad at the game when I was like 8 when it came out. Sly 3 was the first one I actually owned for myself and honestly it’s my favorite too. I think the story of 2 is better, but 3 is just way more fun to play in my opinion.

The one thing I cannot forgive Sly 3: Honor Among Thieves for is: The only small call back to the Panda King's "Flame Fu" that he spent supposed years to create and master...Is just a singular sideways chop. An instant kill move cause of fire and all, but very lack luster and clunky due to having to stop to do it. You would think a MARTIAL ARTIST who was doing Cartwheels - spinning on the crook of his neck and back - and two other chop attacks that were snappy and quick: wouldn't take an eternity to just go "I swipe at you...reluctantly. Now burn for my transgressions. And your folly for getting close to me." Like you would expect him to almost be on the brawling style of The Murray doing fast chop combos while being able to run around. Where was the strength that was THE PANDA KING! None of the guards should even be daring to approach him once he got into action cause everyone should be PETRIFIED of the man! "Nope, this is our General's problem. Not mine." should have been their mentality. His sections are short enough as it is that he could have been kitted out as THE BOSS CHARACTER he should have been. They could have gone ALL OUT with Panda in his sections knowing his was OP even if his primary goal was to be an explosives expert only. He should have been making his presence known as the threat he was by being a One Man Army for a segment to agitate Tsao.

I love that ppl have different favorites. Imo that means they’re all great in their own ways! Sly 1 is actually my favorite. I love the simplicity of having levels and collecting things per levels.

My list goes like this: 1. Sly 2 2. Sly 4 3. Sly 1 4. Sly 3 All are great, but the lack of collectibles in Sly 3 is a huge downgrade for me. That, and the game drags way too much in the last level

Sly 3 made a good use of the Camera. Chief Photographer for General Tsao. Capturing Evidence of Don Octavio polluting. I think that's baso it? And capturing the ghosts in Sly 2 with it was good

You got it right! Sly 3 has higher highs than Sly 2, more interesting and memorable villians over all and before you say Sly 2 has Dimitri you get way more Dimitri in Sly 3 than 2. And that final platforming area in the vault is maginificent. Way better than Clockla.

One thing that bugs me in Sly 4 *Gag* Sorry! It really sickens me even think about that game but saying a loud is even worse. But for what really bugs in the game is that the characters movement is way more floaty compare to 1, 2 and 3.

2 will always be my favorite. I actually didn't play the first game in the series until I played the last 3. 1 is definitely the weakest. 2 just felt like a theif game. 3 was more of an action game. Still loved 3 though.

Sly 4 bosses were awful. Every fight took way too long to complete, with most of them taking up even more time because they would run away from you after a few hits. Sly 2 was my overall favorite game in the series, but 3 had amazing bosses between General Tsao, Don Octavio, and even the repeat of the Panda King fight.

this list is downright bad sly 1 was the building block for all of the games to follow and it is leaps and bounds better than the garbage fire sanzaru handed to us and sly 2 is 100000% better than sly 3 in every way, the missions, the villains, the plot lines, the worlds, way better than anything in sly 3

Sly 1 is a great intro game but if you judge it compared to the others, yeah it kinda falls short, but we can't really blame it for that. It was the low budget intro game, so it is expected. I still enjoy it and appreciate it a lot. What I noticed is though, if you play any of the other sly games first, then go back to Sly 1, your opinion of sly 1 would be typically worse than that of someone that played sly 1 first. Sly 1 has an overlooked upside that the other games don't have. The avoidance of lasers, spotlights, auto-turrets, and alarms was better than that of the other games. I enjoy Sly 2 more than 3 because of the story. Yes the jobs in Sly 3 have more variety and are more entertaining, but the way Sly 2's story kept me interested far exceeds Sly 3's. Each of the bosses are intertwined with each other unlike Sly 3, so taking one down feels more meaningful because of how it affects their operation. I also enjoyed that some of the bosses had 2 episodes because it increased the tension of the upcoming boss fight. I mean, in my first playthrough, I didn't know which bosses had 1 or 2 episodes, so that tension of not knowing if the boss showdown is in this episode or not, was riveting. Also not only the Neyla plot twist, but the twist of losing all the parts was big too. Sly 2 focused on the main trio, which I prefer. The ending with Bentley is such a devastating but excellently written arc. The best character arc in any of the games imo.

Penelope's change didn't feel very spontaneous indeed, she was another character. I'm not against the idea, but she needed to be done better and with more dedicated time. Anyway, I don't think Sly4 is bad, maybe I would have liked more attention on Cooper's ancestors, a little belittled, but the third one was imho less inspired than the previous ones, it was looking like so many other end-of-life games that try to put stuff in, but don't improve the product. Personally: 1) Sly 2 (perfect except Neyla isn't... Clockwerk) 2) Sly 4 (Solid. They did their best and Sucker-punch could have supervise them better) 3) Sly 1 (a rough start, but one where I collected stuff most enjoyably. Nostalgia would inspire me to put it in a superior position but objectively it has aged badly) 4) Sly 3 (Unconvinced about the redemption of some villains, the new characters, the 3d attempt and about things like the toy car, planes and underwater stages)
