I just wish GW didn't need to make a bespoke datasheet and model for each new variant on a unit. Then we could have things like gravis chaplains /and/ options for other factions as well. I know including options you'd need to kitbash isn't always the most new-player-friendly, but the game used to be so much more flexible.

Whoever designed 'Chaplain with Jump Pack' really knocked it out of the park. It looks futuristic and old. Those wings are my favorite of all units with wings of equal height. The pose is a perfect 'leading from the front and inspiring the troops' which is what the chaplains job is. I would add more bronze and gold though than the model in the image. He's an elite unit with super rare power armor, they could have made him look more regal.

I love the suit. But, 10th ed, the suit lost infiltrate rule. I used a pair to back up Infiltrators or an alpha strike melee with the incendium cannon. Now you have to move them up the board. Might as well use a Bastillus Dreadnought for the same cost.

Where does the Judiciar stack up? He's in the chaplaincy, too. :P I'm always torn between him and a Lieutenant for leading a bladeguard blob. The Lieutenant makes them a bit more general purpose, but the Judiciar's Fights First ability is fun and kind of terrifying to deal with.

@@GuardianAssassin Both maxxed out to 20 men? Imo I'd stop at 10 for the shooty squad, considering those points could be used elsewhere (like Sword Bretheran).

@@LordCrate-du8zm Yep, a 20 man squad is a storm but rather hard to maneuver, so I'd personally stick to 10man groups for both.

The Jump Chaplain in Black Templars with the Sigusmund's Seal enhancement for 5+ critical hits, exploding and lethal hits with the army rule and a strat, can put out MASSIVE amounts of damage with a unit of Assault Jump Intercessors on the charge!

Chaplin on a bike in the vanguard spearhead with the ghostweave cloak will be very nice secondary scoring unit (not run it yet but planning on) not doing much damage but very annoying unit to deal with.

Thinking of running both the termy chaplain + the strike master in a 10man blob of deathwing knights in the vanguard spearhead and using the infiltrator enhancement in them. Is this overkill? Of the two which is better? I kinda still wanna take both tbh haha

I believe you can not add a chaplain if you already have a strikemaster. Its either a chaplain only or strikemaster + captain. I dont play DAs so unless there is a special rule DA can bring, then you cant bring chaplain and strikemaster.

I actually expect an new Asmodi model when the DA dex arrives with updated rules etc… he should become alot less sucky… as he should be as the defacto lore wise more terrifying Chaplain of them all… i kinda hope DA get interrogator chaplains again but i can see lore reasons why that doesn’t beed to be a thing anymore so probably won’t happen. Hope they can do something with the Blades of reason to make them have an actually purpose…

So sad Outriders are nothing more than Fisher-Price battery trucks / Wild n' Wacky Action Bikes now; I used to plow two squads of them into melee with a Chaplain adjacent to up their wounding potential and they did some real work! (Not to mention a couple of ATVs sitting back and taking potshots at heavy armor with their Multimeltas)
