MYSTERIO'S MENACE!!! Years ago, my cousin would let me play on his GBA and he had a spider man game. Never knew what it was. Until today. BLESS YOU, KLEJ! Gonna pick it up and play it now, 20 years later

Mysterio’s Menace also came out on a console known as the Digiblast in 2005. If you are unfamiliar with the Digiblast, it’s a bit of a rabbit hole to say the least.

They aren’t “weird” at all -the games are like 95% standard 2D platformers. But I get it; that’s just the KZbin clickbait economy at work. I loved almost all these games back in the day. The first two movie-based games less than the rest - but Mysterio’s Menace in particular. That was definitely the biggest gem, but it was definitely too short even if it felt SOOO good. I never knew it was at all connected to the PS1 games?? Second favorite had to be Ultimate Spider-Man. And then Battle for New York was jank AF. Oh, ETA: “It’s pizza time”

Digital eclipse at this time was really funny because they were known for two things: 1. Mediocre movie tie-ins and/or versions of console games for the gbc and gba just meant to fufill sales 2. The most impressive technical achievements on both consoles, such as the 3d graphics and movie clips in the Spider-Man games (and yes, those are movie trailers)

To me, the 3d 3rd person part of spiderman 1 on gba will always be interesting and experimental for the hardware, it's a shame it wasn't shown in the video.

It's nice to hear Spider-Man had a good run of games on the GBA. Marvel's GBA catalog as a whole seems pretty good, albeit with a few stinkers in the bunch.
