Just a small correction from someone who loves halo lore. Carrier forms aren't so much an evolution as they are a case of recycling. Combat forms that have been heavily damaged or beings that lack sufficient biomass to make an effective combat form ( grunts and jackals for instance ) are turned into carriers. Or at least that's what happens to them if their not just added to the gravemind to server as more biomass to create pure forms

I think in legends some of the hutts actually praised her and we're glad she killed jabba, particularly his family because they were able to basically claim his riches. Some did fear her as some people said, she was given the title of "Hutt killer" because hutts are notoriously hard to kill and she did it with a simple chain. Although I think in reality it they were really as strong as legends made them seem, jabba would have been able to easily throw her off him and around the room with that chain.

Welcome to the world of viruses, the more you know about the ones we already have the less easily you'll be able to sleep at night. That said, something like the Flood could never exist. They essentially have psychic powers which (despite all our wishes) are pure fantasy, and are able to mutate the body far too quickly. There are other considerations as well, such as the fact that the mutations to the body would require the introduction of a virus of some form to actually go in and change the cellular structure. While it is certainly possible for a virus to jump the species barrier (SARS-CoV-2, aka COVID-19, as the most current example), there are a myriad of caveats and limitations, which are likely to be increased exponentially by the alien nature of the virus. Basically they'd be more likely to kill you outright than actually mutate you into a "zombie" or the like, that would require centuries of contact or an offensively gross amount of sheer freaking luck, or an intelligent design mutating the virus artificially with the full human genome as a reference. Consider how long rabies has been around, and so far the worst it can do (depending on the specific strain) is give you hydrophobia. Anyway, the long and short of it is there's a better chance of rabies mutating to become the "Rage Virus" from 28 Days Later (even though in that movie it was Ebola) than there is of something like the Flood posing a viable threat.

Honestly the SW universe has no real method of flood containment, their lack of over were overkill and poor quarantine procedures would doom them quickly. Consider they can't/don't enforce quarantine methods when moving between worlds. They don't have advanced nanotechnology to counter the threats, and they lack area of effect weaponry in common use. Now compare this to star trek (SW most common comparison). Transporters routinely stop pathogens spreading, and can allow objects/people to be moved around without having to walk a potentially infected person across a ship. Bio scanners are also exceptionally common, and tend to be standard equipment for nearly everyone. Nanotechnology is a major thing, especially since the Borg encounters. Even without the nanotechnology, star treks medical knowledge is far more advanced, species like the Videans are terribly advanced in this regard. As for area of effect weapons, infantry weapons have settings to basically hit everything around them. Phaser rifles can be set to sweep a room hitting every surface, this was a security method against the Dominion. And super weapons, are infact exceptionally common (although all are banned by treaty), and these include the ability to blow up stars, create black holes or just shatter a planet. Oh and thats just the current species not the ancient races or god level beings like Q. That said SW ancient races had similar levels of power/potential. And before you mention it, by their very nature, the flood is immune to the force and its abilities due to been a non-SW species.

I know this is a 1 year old comment but I choose to answer it anyways being a heavy SC fan. The Zerg will die. Reason: the infection of species from both races is very different, as it their C&C, with everything being the Flood's favour. Zerg infect by infestation, but their infestation while not fully understood seems to work like a hyperevolutionary virus, which is in a constant state of changing. However, some organic beings are immune to it. E.g., Protoss can't be infested. There are only 2 instances when they have been, one in the comics (which are dubiously canon) and Raszagal, who was already ancient by the time it happened. Flood have no essence to infest or consume, therefore the Zerg virus is innert. Zerg C&C is completely centralized with the Overmind or Queen of Blades. Both can be killed or have their control disrupted under the correct circumstances. When that happens the Zerg go feral and just become like a pack of viscous animals, just as likely to kill each other as kill an enemy. Zerg are also apparently quite easy to take control of. The games say they are not, but we've watched Zerg turn on their masters more than a few times in SC games, Amon had no trouble doing it while Kerrigan was alive and well. Flood infestation is done through a scrambling of DNA. The DNA of the victim is forcibly rewritten to match the flood infection form. This means that anyone is fair game unless their DNA is already degrading (e.g. Sergeant Johnson, and Halsey was clear that it was a total fluke and impossible to replicate, regardless of way it happens). Flood can corrupt AI, Zerg can not, their systems are not compatible and they have never encountered AI in the SC universe, anyways. The closest are Terran Adjutants, which are no where close to the brain levels of an AI. Flood C&C is both centralized and decentralized, and their understanding increases with each victim killed. This would turn the Zerg psychic link into a direct weapon against them. All Zerg are connected. If 1 is infested by the Flood, the entirety of the Zerg C&C is made known to the Flood, their strategy can now adapt to whatever they are dealing with. Flood can corrupt anything, and even corrupt space itself to the point that intersellar travel is no longer possible, isolating entire armies. The Zerg are strong, but the Flood are God-like. They defeated the Forerunners. The Forerunners would squash the Zerg before breakfast. Against the Flood, the Zerg are elimainted with completely negligible casualties. There is no situation where Zerg can defeat the Flood. Flood also spread far more quickly. A single flood spore can destroy a species. They are everything the Zerg wish they could be but never will achieve.

The Flood on the 41st millennium is tricky because there are various stages which i will divide in 4 stages: The first stage is the feral stage, they are animals at best with high infection rate, but not a lot of numbers nor strategy nor any way it could be an interplanetary threat Second stage is the proto Gravemind, this one I deem just like the first one since the protogravemind doesn't stand anywhere near an actual Gravemind in terms of danger, so yeah early detection makes it easy to deal with 3rd one is a bit more serious, since there is now a full blown Gravemind, we have to assume there is a SHIT TON of biomass going around, several systems have already probably succumbed to the infection and now it's a question of; where is it and how much infection forms are there, if it's anything less than a couple dozen million i think it's manageable still And stage 4 is game over, that's when you get the Keyminds, which are nothing like the Graveminds, a Keymind gets access to the full capabilities of Neurophysics from the Precursors as well as access to the Domain, containing being millions of years of information that was once from Precursor origin, there can also be multiple Keyminds around at the same time, at this point the Imperium has 0 chance of dealing with it, not even mentioning the Tau or Eldar and it would be more of a fight between The Flood and the Nids, not considering the Necrons since the Flood have the logic plague

@@sithlordexarkun6984 Perhaps, but the amount of damage he'd need to cause first for the Officio Assassinorum to involve one of their agents is truly colossal; they don't usually send their agents unless the target is comparable in status to a Planetary Governor, or as powerful as a Chaos Champion, not to mention that the High Lords are usually needed to okay the mobilization of an assassin if I recall correctly. Not to mention that a Lord Inquisitor almost certainly wouldn't get involved immediately, because there are certainly more pressing concerns for one of such stature than a single suspected rogue Psyker; the Lord Inquisitor would leave it to the Adeptus Arbites or the Sororitas to deal with first.

Palps would be contacted/corrupted by a demon almost the instant he arrived. His "psychic" powers are considerable and would be a huge beacon in the warp. I have serious doubts he could resist such an encounter. Practitioners of the force don't really have to deal with and aren't trained to fight that kind of intrusion. There is also the possibility that his powers would be greatly magnified in that universe. His powers could be fueled not by the force but by the warp itself. He may well bitch-slap the first demon who tried to seduce him and quickly figure out that the rules have changed. Honestly, I could see him becoming a rather zealous inquisitor, if he he showed up in the right system and to the right people. Then again I could see him doing a God Emperor thing and make a deal with the devil for more power. Imagine him styling himself as the Emperor reborn and creating a second Imperium of Man and causing a massive civil war. *Tzeentch approves this message*

A couple comparisons I would like to see is the Flood against similar "shaping sickness" type enemies like the Zerg of Starcraft fame or the Tyranids of Warhammer 40k. Both species work off of the premise of heavy bio-engineering and the conversion of entire ecosystems to suit their needs, but are also just different enough from the Flood to warrant further discussion. Edit: I say this, knowing full well that your comparison of Flood v. Tyranid is in the video list next to this one.

I always wondered who'd win in a fight; the Flood or the X from the Metroid universe. The X can also infect any lifeform (excelt Metroids) including dead bodies. X can recreate a perfect copy of the host, not just a mutated body like the Flood, and thus making it way easier to sneak into new areas and infect new places. So no trick are needed like creating a portal to a new place The X only need one parasite to infect a whole planet and itbseems, that the X are way faster in infecting a place then the Flood. (In Metroid Dread, it took them maybe a few hours to take over the planet) The Flood is way smarter with having a gravenind and with the X maybe being a copy of the Flood (or any similar being of any game/movie/book) and the Flood being a copy of “The Thing“ it would be interesing to have a deathbattle video with those two parasites

The Gravemind is an amazing concept, because it's the only type of monster that really works in the modern day without using manipulative tricks, a true eldritch horror The more you know about it, the more you become aware that you're not capable of truly understanding it, and the more terrifying it becomes It's not an alien species, or some mindless creature, not a zombie or even a hivemind, it is the exact opposite of an insect queen, it is The King in Yellow, the absence of individuality, something incomprehensible to human life, not a cheesy monster that makes us afraid of our place in the universe, fearful of the shadows in the space beyond like a caveman wondering what might be lurking in the bushes at night- but an existential terror that makes us confront whether 'our place in the universe' even exists

Once a galaxy is consumed, The Flood will be hyper-intelligent due to having consumed the intelligence of every single living being there. The Flood would most likely go to another galaxy to infect more, but I don’t think they would do it immediately. They would know that one day they would have to go to a whole other universe if they win, so they would probably wait for that galaxy to figure out how to travel across different multiverses while consuming other ones. Once that galaxy succeeds, The Flood would then strike and take all of their knowledge.
@stevenbecerra7193

It’s interesting to consider the Flood to consume a whole Universe and then travel to new dimensions. Knowing the Flood can obtain knowledge from all its victims, they could be smart enough to reproduce new biomass. They could reproduce Humans or any species and consume their biomass, basically a pig slaughter Universe for the Flood’s gain. However, if the Flood aren’t patient enough to wait and reproduce fresh biomass, then they’ll be desperate enough to build a device to travel dimensions.

I hope they bring back the flood in halo infinite dlc. Perhaps an underground flood containment unit could be damaged during a fight with either the endless or the banished and flood spires begin to leak out. After a couple days all chief sees in the distance is a wave of spores swiftly flowing across the ring. Chief tells the pilot to get inside the pelican but he has already been exposed to the spores and slowly over the course of the DLC gets more and more infected. It would be cool to see a gravemind burst out of the ground in the horizon as the flood invasion has begun. For a few missions of the DLC chief goes to fire the ring to stop the flood. He fires it (He would find someway to survive it) and realises most of the flood are still on the ring. They have infected the Xalanyn and are now invincible to the ring. The gravemind now realises chief is the last lifeforms left on the ring uninfected. It begins to attack him (boss fight). The gravemind begins to win against chief and is about to make him part of the flood as the pilot (almost entirely infected by the flood) flys the pelican into the gravemind saving chief and redeeming his character for his selfish actions earlier in the story. The final mission would be to destroy the ring entirely to prevent an unstoppable galaxy wide flood invasion. At the end of the mission would be a warthog run as you escape the detonating ring. As chief flies of in a pelican away from the ring Zets halo blows up in the background. It marks the end of halo infinites campaign. It would be a truly fitting way to bring an end to zeta halo imo

I always wondered if that the ProtoGravemind that Chief killed (speculatively,) while extracting the neural implant from Keyes, had some kind of link to the Gravemind that was on Installation 05, would make sense, since the Gravemind grabbed both Chief and Arbiter and talked to them like it already knew them, like it knew their importance. They both were on Installation 04, maybe the Gravemind knew this? "This one is machine and nerve and has his mind concluded. This one is but flesh and faith and is the more deluded."

Brian Wiggins The Flood on Installation 04 were more feral before the ProtoGravemind, but even after Chief had presumably killed it, they were still coordinated, gathering at The Pillar of Autumn, sure the knowledge of The Autumn was stored in the memories of the marines and crewmen, but it was a mass mobilization, too direct for mindless roamers, this perhaps could be a link to the Gravemind telling them what their objective is, or perhaps the ProtoGravemind wasn't actually dead, in either case 117 was a very prominent character during the campaign on Installation 04, fighting through the hoards of Covenant and Flood, so did Vadam, but instead of Covenant, it was Humans, but he focused on the parasite when it was released, so focused that he had no idea the ring was going to be blown up by John until the last moments. I think that the ProtoGravemind was compiling information from them during the many skirmishes they had against the Flood and quite possibly forwarding it to other Graveminds, if there are more than the one instead of the one on Installation 05, this is how the Gravemind knew of 117 and of Thel, it took John before the quarantine zone was lifted and took Vadam afterwards, it could have gathered information from the bodies that The Covenant had so graciously given them during the quarantine lift, so it had the location of where Arbiter would be, but how did it know Chief would be where he was when it grabbed him? Maybe all that information the ProtoGravemind forwarded before the destruction of Installation 04 was enough to figure out what the Demon would do next and where to find and with the information of the Covenant Hierarchy, (with all the dead Covies and all,) it would understand what would happen to Thel and where to find him too.

Keyminds are utterly ridiculously powerful graveminds, that generally have more than one locations. The Flood were virtually unbeatable in you old vs. Matches. So I've always wanted to see a video discussing: "what faction(s) from any scifi universe could defeat the flood?" I would suggest the Dune Universe. I. Personal shields are extremely common. II. A single organization, the Spacing Guild, controls all interstellar travel. This will make it easier to contain the flood. III. The Bene-Gesserit sisterhood have total nerve and fiber control. They can consciously control every nerve and muscle fiber in their body. To become a Bene-Gesserit a woman must swallow poison and render it chemically inert before it kills them. Perhaps they could resist flood infection. IV. The Great Worm Leto II, The God Emperor of Dune, or his father Muad'dib are prescient. They can see the future. Either of them would know exactly where the initial Flood infection would occur. The instant the Flood infection begins, that whole planet could be bombarded until nothing is left alive.
