Lyrics
I think we’re done here. no conversation. just telepathic communication.
while you’re locked beneath your bones, the sky awaits.
you’re a thing with feathers now. elevate.
In the long dark night of eternal life, you’ve always been a light.
I think you’re done here. they’ve been mistaken.
they pored over the papers trying to solve your equation.
but the truth was not in math, it was in faith.
the divine does not divide, she permeates.
In the long dark night of eternal life shine on.
you’ve always been a light.
but I think you’re done here.
standing ovation.

@@digitalmoteur It's not so much Keith's quitting drinking - he's been kind of odd lately. Really ranty in interviews like some crackhead. I get that sobering up can be a big, life changing ordeal and that he recently divorced his wife of 10 years, but it really sounds like he needs to take some time to sort out his life. I hope ETID as a whole doesn't suffer over this.

@@ChristSavesandMusicHelps I always label them as rock and roll. Maybe not the R+R we are used to being force fed on the radio but the kind that only true outliers achieve. I think the best rock music is the kind the hive minded previous generation just can't get behind. Example, my grandparents didn't like the Stones or Beatles but loved Elvis. My Dad loved Zeppelin, Sabbath, Pink Floyd (etc) but hates bands that have distorted vocals despite considering himself a music lover. I admit it's a broad stroke but I think labelling ETID as only 'metal' or 'hardcore' is selling them short of their progress/genius. This is the kind of forward thinking Rock and roll needs despite the fact the masses would sooner label Nickelback or Disturbed (etc) as the current generation of rock. ETID will never have mass appeal although this song in particular is probably gonna do them wonders. What do i know, though?

The first time I heard this song, at 1:25 I thought “was that Andy Hull?”.. Then at 1:45 when the vocals switched from Keith to Andy literally in the middle of the word “always”....... That’s when my mind exploded and my spine tingled.. It was such an amazing experience..

I think we're done here, no conversation Just telepathic communication While you're locked beneath your bones The sky awaits You're a thing with feathers, now elevate You're a thing with feathers, now elevate In the long dark night of eternal life You've always been a light I think you're done here, they've been mistaken They pored over the papers, trying to solve your equation But the truth was not in math, it was in faith The divine does not divide, she permeates In the long dark night of eternal life, shine on Shine on You've always been You've always been a light But I think you're done here Standing ovation

What an incredible album, from start to finish. ETID is one of the most diverse bands I've ever listened to and it shows with this record. The mixing and layering of the tracks were fantastic, they've really showed their talent and evolution on this one. There were a bunch of different sounds I wasn't expecting and they worked so well together, I can't say anything bad about this record, what a wild ride, now for my second listen.
