what i do is divide my bank balance by the amount of days left and don't allow myself to spend over that. If you want something expensive, go a few days without spending. Try to spend less than allotted for that day because later on in the month the amount you can spend will go up as the amount of days get shorter. I was having money problems, had a mutual split with my fiancé, was drinking too much and just felt very down, which I combatted by being a stone wall. People kept telling me how positive I remained throughout, but it was a ruse. Once covid hit, I actually received a blessing. With all of my bonus pay and an early birthday gift that my failing vehicle was paid off, I got a new car, paid off all my credit cards and can tell by the way people respond to me that I carry a new confidence. I only wish I could have exuded the that "true me" to my ex.
