I talk about 34 toy fads over the span of 100 years, but really more than half are 80s and later. Some of them are still remembered fondly today, and others have been lost to time. I'm looking at you pet rock.

Did you know that in 2021, Bratz made the ultimate comeback for their 20th anniversary? They have since branched out into designer collabs, makeup, clothing, and many more! Doll collectors have basically every Bratz Doll you can imagine. There’s even a whole entire PODCAST dedicated to Bratz!!

The classic Webkinz plushies were discontinued, but rhe game wasnt. You can still play it, and rhey started making Webkinz Next plushies around the same time the originals were phased out.

Hi! I’m a 15 year old Teddy Ruxpin fan! No new show has been made. The company with the current media rights for Teddy Ruxpin was going to make a show but it was awful and the plans to make it were cancelled.

Idk if they plan to do anything with it or just sit on the purchase though, but they’re seemingly a small studio, and the person who bought it was a fan of the original series as a child. I’m sure if you look it up you’d probably find the exact name easily.

Maybe the can contact Teddy’s VA, Phil Baron. From what I know he was good friends with Ken Forsse (the creator of Teddy Ruxpin) and he enjoyed recording Teddy’s lines!

You should’ve put monster high dolls. When I was 19 my first job was in 2011 at toysrus for the Xmas season. And I do remember lalaloopsy being a fad but I remember when people were looking for this specific monster high doll based on the abominable snowman. She was so sought after that people would come in and grab the figure and find someone else who is shopping for a monster high doll and sell it to them without having to buy it in the first place

fidget spinners are nice for ppl who fidget or are calmed by fidgeting with something in their hands. they basically lump in the same category as any other fidget toy. ppl who don't feel an urge or have a need to fidget w something don't understand them and thats fine, but i think it should still be respected lol. def agree that majority of the ppl who got them while they were a fad got them just to have them tho regardless of if any of that affected them

i LOVED pound puppies. I was a generation after its first fad, but i was always over the moon when id find a PP at a yard sale. I loved as i put it "droopy dogs" like basset hounds and PP really fit that aesthetic.

Kids still play with toys they just stop playing with them younger these days. I find it to be sad. I played with toys way past my peers was I embarrassed? Yes but looking back I'm glad I didn't stop

One not mentioned here but that was huge in the UK in 1997 were Teletubby dolls. There wasn't enough of them to go round for all the kids who wanted them, so parents were queueing overnight and getting into fistfights over them. It was wild! My first craze were Pogs. Yeah they're kinda stupid but I still feel very nostalgic for them lol

I’m not sure if you knew this because you didn’t mention it in the video, but many or even most of the film slides for the viewmaster produced a 3D effect when viewed because the photos were shot stereoscopically (from two vantage points at once). I think they even used some clever drawing techniques to make it work for some of the cartoon character slides as well. Anyway, I think the 3D effect added to the novelty and popularity of it.

In 2005 Webkinz Debut They had new ones released and old ones discontinued and some rare which even now the cheeky dog,cheeky cat,Love Puppy and sherbet Bunny can for a lot of Money with the code intact and even without the code just for plushie. Kids have had their parents spend over 300 to get one with code

I don’t think they deserved to be the fad they became but as someone with ADHD I have found fidget spinners to be quite helpful in my focus and keeping me from… well… fidgeting and will totally defend them over the pet rock. At least you can DO something with a fidget spinner
