Remember he was created as an experiment to see if combining dark and synthetic energon would create berserker warriors that Megatron could control, but instead turned him into an energon sucking monster who would turn anyone he "bit" into another like himself...how come we never got the vampirized vehicons as toys?

I feel like there’s a fundamental difference between characters who got “dead” toys because they hung around in some form post-death (i.e. ghost Starscream, zombie Cliffjumper) vs just “here’s this character’s corpse.” Both belong on a list like this, definitely, but one feels a lot more pointlessly morbid than the other

That would require them to make an actual D-16 and an actual Orion Pax, and I don't know how extensive of a retooling of One Megatron and Optimus Prime they'd want to do. Though a torso with a giant hole blasted through its side wouldn't be too hard for Yolopark to do - perhaps as an added piece that comes with Sentinel Prime for those who have Yolopark's Cogged Orion Pax. Or as part of an accessory pack so they could have bits to replicate Sentinel's visceral death scene.

If you want to count it, the 2010 voyager and the Studio series Fallen both have removable faces so you can re-enact the "Give me your face" scene, he does live for a few seconds after that but it's pretty close to depicting his death. MP-44 also includes a damaged head meant to mimic Optimus's look after he's been fatally wounded, but I guess technically not dead yet. Also by technicality every version of Animated starscream could be depicting a re-animated corpse.

I’m still a little upset by Prowl being included in the dead pack, because there hasn’t been an accessible mainline version. If they had revealed a normal SS86 Prowl before or after, I’d have been fine, but it’s been over a year, and we still don’t have plans to rerelease one, AFAIK.

I kinda like the dead 86 2 packs. They're the only cost effective way to get Prowl, no clear plastic on Ironhide, Ratchet or Prowl, and you get some awesome purple blast effects. Also Brawn's there. They also go on sale pretty regularly so you can get 2 figures for about Voyager prices.

Just wanted to point out that Brawn was not shot in the shoulder, if you pause the movie while he's going down you'd see a hold in the left side of his chest, which means the shot went through where his spark would be now, tore through his torso due to the angle it hit him at, and then exited through his back, Yeah I'm pretty sure there is absolutly no chance a shot like that wouldn't hit something vital

The Starscream toy with the black and grey deco from when he gets shot in the 86 movie is the non-transforming Super 7 Fallen Starscream. There was also 2 toys of Jazz from the 07 movie that depicted him with severe levels of battle damage, a redeco of the original 07 Deluxe toy, and (of all things) a Robot Heroes Jazz that was in a 2-pack with Megatron.

The Studio Series 86 examples are really a helluva Primal's paw on our demand for non-clear versions of the molds after Cliffjumper and Kup, and ESPECIALLY the 5-pack in between the two pairs. I only hope that they're rereleased in 2026, 40th anniversary of the movie, as they should always have been, but 50-50, and again, could be another Primal's paw situation.

Another annoying thing about the SS86 dead Autobots is that the reds on dead Ironhide match so much better than on the regular SS86 version. So I ended up parts swapping, putting the "dead" limbs on the torso of the regular SS86 figure, then used Toyhax labels to make the windows uniform on my regular SS86 figure. I didn't bother doing anything with the windows on the dead one since I don't intend on transforming him into van mode. So I ended up doing the same thing with my Ratchets. Also, it would not surprise me if Hasbro were to put out a dead version of SS86 Optimus.

There are actually a few figures I know of that you didn't mention. First off, that Combiner Wars Ghost Starscream is part of a set of figures that were all dead characters from different universes. I'm not sure what universe Cyclonus was from where he apparently died. Thrust is from Armada after he was crush inside of Unicron during his transformation sequence. Breakdown is the Zombie from Prime though that mold really does not look like a Zombie nor does he really like the Prime version of that character. It's just Offroad painted in Breakdown colors. And Roller who not only is apparently dead in his universe but also has a robot mode and is not at all in his traditional colors. He's also the only Autobot in the group which makes me think this is meant to be Shattered Glass Roller. There is also other movie toys of dead characters you didn't talk about. The Fallen's original Voyager toy was remolded with a different head that had a removable face with sculpting underneath to replicate his appearance when Optimus kills him. The Studio Series leader class Fallen also has that removable face gimmick. Nitro Zeus also technically is made to represent a death that didn't even officially happen in the movie. Apparently there was a deleted scene where Nitro Zeus was going to be decapitated and Cogman was going to transform into his headmaster mode to pilot his corpse. The toys are literally designed to actually have this function which is the only reason we even know about it. Finally, there's a toy of Optimus Prime's corpse from Revenge of the Fallen. RotF Stratosphere was designed for the toy line to represent the air plane that shipped Optimus Prime's dead body to Egypt in the movie. His figure actually comes with a little Optimus Prime accessory and the vehicle mode actually has a hallow space in the vehicle mode specifically meant to represent that scene in the movie. What makes this figure even worse is that while Stratosphere was not an actual character in the movie at the time he did appear in Rise of the Beasts using that same design and he ended up transporting Bumblebee's corpse to Peru in that movie. So Stratosphere is a character who is now officially known for transporting the corpses of other characters inside of his body. Oh and I almost forgot that technically RotF Jetfire is also a corpse if you combine his parts with Optimus because he specifically killed himself in the movie before they were combined so officially you can not combine those two figures without representing Jetfire as being a corpse. Optimus is canonically wearing Jetfire's corpse. That would also include the "flight tech" he uses in Dark of the Moon. Like they cleaned it up a bit so it doesn't look so much like he's just wearing a corpse but were do you think he got that flight tech from? Those are Jetfire parts. I like Armada Jetfire turning into his pants better, at least that combination isn't so morbid. Armada Jetfire gets to still be alive when he combines but the movie version literally commits suicide ripping his own spark out of his chest and then Jolt appears out of no where to attach Jetfire's parts onto Optimus... and Jolt literally only exists for that one scene, he's never in the movie before that and never appears again after that. Gawd I hate the Micheal Bay movies. I think I forgot about Jetfire being a corpse when he combines because of how stupid that scene was.

@@myoldhandlewasmadewheniwas9 Thanks for the clarification... so um... do you know how how him and Cyclonus died? Those are the only two characters in that set I'm not familiar with. All I know is that every member if that combiner is meant to be a dead character from a different universe. So we got G1 Starscream, Armada Thrust, Prime Breakdown, IDW Roller, and the toy just labels him Tactician Cyclonus. I think he's also an IDW character cause I don't know when he would have died.

Cyclonus, I think he supposedly pulled the dead to him rather than being dead himself. Probably died in Headmasters though, I never watched it

If there was an English dub with the original G1 voice cast and still using their American names I would have watched that but the weird Shout Factory dub, no thank you. Timely topic TJ-O! 😊🎉 As it so happens, I was just dusting up my long-displayed TF Cybertron Dark Crumplezone yesterday; and let me tell you that the deco and redesign on his person (plus sole Mini-Con Port uncharacteristic to any Velocitron denizen) tends to evoke (per the cartoon story arc) one who has 'returned' from an otherworldly phase of existence is is still 'spectral' in a sense! (Check out his Halloween deco ala the 'Horror' Mickey Mouse TFs!) 😅 In my mind, most from the cast from the 'tainted' Universe 1.0 Beast Wars Transformers, the Beast Machines series, the Four Transmetals & Fuzor Horsemen of Unicron, the Monsters X TF and even the 'Oni' from Transformers GO! series are kinda 'undead'. 😉 (I would personally include the pan-trilogy Cyberton Dark Scorponok & 'Vampire' Super Mode Armada Optimus Prime among these misfits.) I'd say CYLAS counts more as a frankenstien-esque thing than a Zombie, though I suppose that gets into an argumant about is Frankenstien's monster is a zombie. Additionally I think Dark Scorponok from the Cybertron line was a zombie, I know he was cloned from a dead Optimus but I can't recall if the Universe Nemesis Prime (the repaint of Big Convoy) counts or not, and I don't know if he counts as Undead, but Titan Comics depicted ROTF Dead End as essentially a zombie.
