I've seen nearly all of these paintings before, either in history books or internet searches, but it's just dawned on me that these are the originals 🤯

It’s surreal to see them in person!

It is so true that to see the paintings in person is so different than seeing them in a book. I was fortunate to see the Tudor exhibit at the Cleveland Museum of Art last year. It’s was an amazing experience.

Thank you so much, Jessica. You had a lot of history to cover, a very admirable job. Once again, the paintings were allowed to speak and be marveled at. Wow from Colorado USA.

Another incredible video -- thank you! I've always felt so sorry for Lady Jane Grey. She didn't want the throne, but it was forced upon her, leading to her execution. She was a little, innocent pawn in a horrific battle for power. P.S. You should read the play "Elizabeth Rex" by Canadian author Timothy Findley. I think you'd find it fascinating :)

Yes the term we use in England is "crowned". The English language not American slang.

Was Robert Dudley's father executed by Queen Mary I? Based on the TV series "Becoming Elizabeth", Robert Dudley's father was against Queen Mary 1 and made her life miserable.

I have heard that Mary considered the burning of heretics a religious obligation. She felt it would be a betrayal of her faith if she failed in that duty. I am not saying I applaud her for that conviction, but only that it was not done solely for malicious entertainment. I think I have not encountered any faith on this planet that has never stooped beneath the standard of basic human decency.

PLEASE don't use that silly expression "Coronated". The term to use is "Crowned". This is on a par with "Gifted" instead of "Presented".
@TheMuseumGuide Жыл бұрын
That’s a matter of opinion; I prefer it to crowned but I’m fine with either. Thank you for watching!
