What type of American presidents video would you like to see me make next eh? Edit: It has been brought to my attention that Bill Clinton's favorite two presidents are actually FDR and Lincoln. He says this on page 333 of his book “My Life," a book that I have avoided reading and it has come back to bite me in the butt. The strange thing about Robert Todd Lincoln was that he was either present or near all three of the assassinations of presidents during his life. He was present when his father died, he was on the subway platform when Garfield was shot, and he was in a nearby tent when McKinley was shot. He acknowledged this pattern and generally declined invitations to meet presidents afterwards, seeing it as bad luck. He also was mildly disappointed he was mostly only hired to jobs due to his father’s legacy and lived quite a long time, being the last survivor of the Garfield and Arthur administrations, as well as the last witness of Lee’s surrender when he died in 1926. He lived a fairly eventful life even if he isn’t remembered much today.

I feel like you can draw quite a few comparisons between Trump and Jackson. 1. Both broke the mold when they became president Jackson was the 1st president not to have political experience. Trump was the first president without any military or political experience 2. They were very controversial presidents for their time. Most people really liked or despised them 3. They both have practically no filter and just say whatever is one their mind 4. They did not have great relationships with the previous presidential administrations

I think Biden’s said on record a couple of times that his favorite president was JFK. It makes sense as a an Irish catholic from the northeast who grew up during the post-ww2 era. He said JFK was the reason he even got interested in politics because someone with his background could become president. I think FDR is who he’s modeled himself after simply because that’s the kind of president he thinks the country needs right now.

Ironically, I think Andrew Jackson would probably dislike Trump, since, not only was Jackson more of a Jeffersonian, and Trump seems to be our most Hamiltonian President, but also, Jackson grew up poor, and had to work his way up the economic and social ladder, while Trump was born extremely wealthy, and was spoonfed everything by his father, including his own corporation. And speaking of corporations, they were also something Andrew Jackson hated.

I think FDR also liked Woodrow Wilson. FDR actually supported Wilson over Teddy Roosevelt in the 1912 election and served as assistant secretary of the navy in Wilson's administration. FDR also screened the film Wilson (1944) at the second Quebec conference in 1944. I think also Woodrow Wilson's foreign and domestic policies had an influence on FDR, such as with FDR's new deal policies, the successor to Wilson's new freedom policies, and advocating for the United nations, the successor to Wilson's league of nations. Personally, I think FDR also loved Woodrow Wilson and was very much inspired by Wilson

My Uncle's favorite President was Theodore Roosevelt because he was more focused on solving problems and doing his job as president rather than on political parties. Since Jimmy Carter has been on hospice for over a year, I think it'd be cool for a video talking about Jimmy Carter's modern reputation, as statistics show it's improved much more than in the past. This is in part due to Reagan's Presidency gaining unpopularity, his charity work, and Jimmy being shown as more forward-thinking on a lot of areas than his predecessors, like on climate change.

Although not necessarily my favourite President, I do have a lot of respect for William Howard Taft. He was probably one of the nicest people who ever served as President of the United States. He didn't even let his obesity affect his sense of humour either. One time, when talking about a time he was traveling on a streetcar, he joked "I got up and I gave my seat to three ladies," and of course, he's (so far) the only Former President to swear in other Presidents (Calvin Coolidge in March 1925 and Herbert Hoover in March 1929), by virtue of him being Chief Justice of the United States

I definitely think you can tell a lot about a person on who they say their favorite president is. I know people will say the standard picks like Washington, or Lincoln, but if they pick someone more recent like within the last 50 I think it shows a lack of interest in American history/politics/etc. hearing someone say a lesser known President is definitely interesting and knowing which president who would try to emulate the president they favored is definitely interesting. I think if there was a future president who tried to emulate Teddy Roosevelt’s presidency would be really fascinating.
