Really glad you made this video! This is the ultimate Luke ROTJ collection. I love how they repurposed the Obi Wan stunts, and casting new hilts from his.

Absolutely great! I wasn't aware of the "constructed a new lightsaber" shot was a replacement shot!

In my own personal head cannon lukes green saber in return of the Jedi was the v2 version he cobbled together with spare parts from obiwans place on tatooine to go rescue Han and used until after the fall of the Empire where he then rebuilt and finished it turning it into the hero version he used in the mandalorian and book of boba fett all the way until the last Jedi where it's more weathered and been further modified with that extra ring on the top of the emiter which was probably from damage sustained from training Leia!... I absolutly hate fan theory but this just makes the most sense to me and had that close up shot of Vader holding Luke's saber there would be no debate and the v2 would be his saber!

Really cool stuff! Luke's ROJ lightsaber has always been my favorite

Very good video. Luke Skywalker is my favorite Jedi, and his ROTJ saber is super iconic. It's fascinating just how much history exists in that one hilt.

I love the stories behind all of these! My personal favorite is probably the pickup shot one Vader holds while saying to Luke "I see you have constructed a new lightsaber"

What an awesome collection! V2 is my favorite by far, the history of these sabers is the best part of collecting

I thought I knew everything about this lightsaber but I was wrong. Thank you for educating me.

When I saw RotJ in the theater last year (BIG screen), I could pick out which prop was which a lot easier than even on a huge tv.

I love that you have the ISYHCANL version where it has the single rails on the control box and there is no blinking light.

During Vader's initial scene with Luke, they actually switched between the V-2 and the hero saber...... And the Greebles on the V-2 at the bottom were actually how they controlled the rotational speed of the motor on the initial Obi-Wan stunt saber, not plug the holes.
@Sithslayer8 ай бұрын
Yes absolutely. In the “motorised stunt” that became the V2 there was a red switch and a cable that plugged into a battery pack. These two were replaced by the cone knob and boot stud at some point. The cone knob can be seen in the throne room scene so that was at least an in-production modification.

Great stuff and an awsome collection. And I learned something new today 😊. I thought the one from the deleted cave scene was the one in " I see you constructed a new lightsaber" Thanks for sharing your collection ❤ Can I ask if you have suggestion for a good boot stud and the cone knob. I would like to update my V2 that I love and its the star in my very small collection.
@Sithslayer8 ай бұрын
Thank you Peter! I’m glad you’re learning some interesting facts! The best and most accurate cone knob and boot replicas are from WannaWanga. They are almost identical to vintage ones. Vintage bolt studs are quite cheap though so if I find one I’ll let you know too. I know someone selling vintage cone knobs but those are quite expensive.
@peterlarsson6918 ай бұрын
@@Sithslayer Thanks alot for the reply. I understand that vintage cone knob is expensive, I saw your video with the turntables 😊. I Will go for wangawanga to begin with. Feels good to have support from you. I have not discovered any comunity here in sweden for these kind of hilts that you show. So Im a bit alone here 😊. Thanks again

Great video, really interesting how many versions existed just for 1 film. Do you know who's selling screen accurate versions of the "Cave scene" lightsaber?
@Sithslayer7 ай бұрын
Hands down that would be Dave Parkin. www.daveparkinart.com Although these are static but nothing else comes as close to the accuracy particularly with the control box details

The V3 should have been the “Hero” saber.
@Sithslayer8 ай бұрын
It was actually in the 90’s!
@zacharymccants778 ай бұрын
@@Sithslayerthat’s what I always thought. The V3 was what I had in mind anytime I thought of Luke’s saber. I was born in 90, and I had that Kenner toy of Luke’s saber. Return of the Jedi was my favorite film, Luke was my favorite character, and I loved his green lightsaber. I remember the first time I saw the “hero” design, I was really confused and honestly somewhat disgusted, lol. I was in my early 20’s by the time I noticed that as Luke’s “official” lightsaber, and for years I thought I was suffering from some weird Mandella Effect.
@Sithslayer8 ай бұрын
@@zacharymccants77 yes most likely a lot of the officially licensed toys and replicas were redone in the mid 2000’s after the Magic of Myth exhibition
