In summary (thanks to Squatter for this list): 0:45 Pan Seared - great 1:45 Dishwasher - surprisingly good, missing a crust, basically a sous vide steak 2:39 Front Sear - great 3:13 Baked - great, missing a crust 3:51 Deep Fry - great, beautiful crust 4:49 Air Frier - not great, missing a crust, flamethrower fixes it but not the best 5:24 Caveman - unique flavour, unevenly cooked, overall great, use lump charcoal and DO NOT use briquettes 6:16 Panini - unevenly cooked, not great but fast and convenient 6:44 Boiled - awful, but can be saved with pan fry 7:34 Smoked - perfectly cooked and unique smoky flavour, missing a crust but doesn't need it 8:07 Butter - awful, waste of butter 8:55 Broiled - uneven cook, missing a crust, flamethrower saves it and makes it taste a little like charcoal 9:49 Car Engine - awful, bad taste, one side is raw 10:45 Salt Crust - not ideal because you have to guess when the steak is ready, for Guga 20 minutes = a little overdone 12:06 Chicken Fried - amazing steak, beautiful crust 13:21 Clothing Iron - surprisingly good, although you can never use that iron for clothes ever again 14:00 Microwave - not a good way to cook steak, but not as bad as it sounds - can be saved by pan frying with butter 15:03 Steamed - awful, no flavour, no crust, should be illegal, can't even be fixed with a flamethrower 15:48 Reverse Sear - beautiful steak, smoky flavour, brings out the seasoning 16:33 Salt Block - perfectly cooked, tastes good, surprisingly missing salt, beware exploding salt blocks 17:27 Skewer - very juicy, great steak 18:04 Toaster - unevenly cooked, tastes awful 18:41 Wine - awful, worst way to cook a steak, no flavour, disgusting 19:27 Sous Vide - wonderful steak, no crust (flamethrower fixes), very consistent

The first time I tried the reverse sear method on a charcoal grill... I was blown away... You have got to try it. I have a simple weber grill, just stack all the coals on one side and you're good! You're setting up the grill to be an oven, a broiler and a bit of a smoker all in one.

My takeaway for my own needs: pan sear or deep fry if I have to cook indoors, skewer over open flame if camping, reverse sear if using my grill or smoker, and if I ever wanna level up I can learn to sous vide and buy a culinary torch for the crust. Awesome. Thank you, Guga!!

Guga, with approx 2,000 miles of rive canoe camping at my ripe age of 60. I been using what you call Caveman cooking to my steaks, chicken and pork chops and I have to say it my favorite methods. Not only the woodsy smokey flavor and crust but it is the closest link and connection method of cooking to our early ancestors. I find turning frequently and rotating aids in limiting any burn spots.

As soon as i got my smoker set up. I started using it as my oven. And the steaks ive been doing on it have been thr best ive done so far. Usually i do 250* till internal 130* Rest for 8-10minutes While resting i get the grill hot to put a nice sear on each side with some butter to get a nice flame sear about 1.5minutes a side to get that internal to just over 135 area.

I have a contact grill (like that panini press) and it has its own steak program. It turns out really great and perfectly cooked. But the contact grill is best for fish. In the air frier you need to use chicken and every 2 minutes use a brush for applying teriyaki sauce. You will check the chicken after every bite wether it is raw. It is perfectly done, but it is so juicy and tender that you think it is raw.

I have experimented with steaks a lot. My favorite that I have done is a thick rib eye, cowboy rib eyes are perfect. I take them out of the fridge when I go out to start the pellet smoker. I cover them in a fairly thick layer of McCormick Montreal Steak Seasoning and add a bit more garlic powder and black pepper on both sides. I turn the grill up to 500 degrees (the max) and I use a 50/50 mix of hickory and charcoal pellets (premixed or competition blend also tastes awesome) so long as it's hickory dominate. I wait until it's up to temp and then I put on the steaks. I adjust the time based upon the thickness, however with thicker grocery store standard cuts I do 3 minutes on the grill, turn the steak 90ish degrees and another 3 minutes, then flip the steak and another 3 minutes, then turn once more 90ish degrees and another 3 minutes. They come out absolutely perfect every time.
