If you look at every singles match Macho man had no matter where he was on the card it’s always amazing to see the crowd rise to their feet when savage would go to the top rope. Absolute legend status

I love how BOTH Halloween Havoc matches were included, because the semi-main was pretty much the main event for a good amount of viewers back in the day, due to the feed being cut early. Nice attention to detail!

The Warrior vs Hogan mess was not the main event/final match on the card so shouldn't have been included. Most people saw the Goldberg vs DDP main event. Attention to being a WWE fan...

The Rodman/Malone match is such a clear case of Hulk changing a finish so he didn't lose. The whole match was building towards the double-cutter finish, and the babyfaces even celebrated at the end. Such bs

When I saw AEW was starting to bring in "celebrities" like Snoop Dogg and having them get involved with storylines. I immediately had flashbacks to WCW and the b.s. of Rodman, Malone and Leno. I recall the HH running over fiasco. My brother in law were watching it, then all the sudden it was off air. We were both like; what's going on? And it happened during the Hogan/Warrior match for us. We didn't get to see even half of that matchup. Finally called the ppv provider, they informed us of what happened. We were pissed to say the least. And THAT was the beginning of the end for WCW for me. I still paid attention to what was going on in WCW, but I was more into the WWF brand. And started paying less and less attention to WCW. Great video.😁👍

Only around 25% of PPV providers cut the feed early, the rest did the logical thing and kept showing the PPV until it finished. Most people saw it. Really not WCW's fault.

The fact that Bret/Flair didn't go on last at Souled Out really gives credence to all of Bret's bitching about getting screwed at WCW. Also, it's crazy to think that while the WWF was starting the peak of the Attitude Era and having Austin/HBK headline WrestleMania, WCW decided to counter with Hogan/Savage when those two couldn't even put on a decent match together in 1996.
@namikstudios
@namikstudios 9 ай бұрын
Bret going over the greatest of all time in his debut match in WCW somehow gives credence to Bret's moaning? Hardly. You could not ask for a better first match than going over Ric Flair. Bret Hart is one of only nine WCW Triple Crown Champions and he did it faster than the other seven who still deserve that honor (Flair, Sting, Luger, DDP, Goldberg, Booker T, and Scotty Steiner). The truth is Bret had a great run in WCW and was treated really well by the company.

The 90s was the best era of pro wrestling hands down I am 39 years old and I watched a Monday night war go down from 1996 all the way until March 2001 but I’m gonna give my honest opinion and I think a lot of wrestling fans would agree with me on this one. I think pro wrestling really died out in 1999 when WCW relied too much on the NWO and in 1998 and 1999 the writing was on the wall. WCW was no longer a rival to the WWF and after that it was pretty much history 2001 comes by and Vince McMahon buys WCW and there was no more competition and it was basically the biggest FU to wrestling fans wrestling will never be like it was in the 90s it was just a different time back then

Page vs Goldberg. WCW had a real chance here for something great. They could have had page a powerplant trained student be the first to beat Goldberg only to have Goldberg on tv spend time training at the powerplant and then being the guy to beat page after page spends 6 months destroying people. Great TV, yes. Great promotion for their wrestling school, yes.

I never understood why Sting vs. The Giant went last at The Great American Bash. A lot more hype was put into the tag match of Savage and Piper vs. Hogan and Hart. Sting/Giant didn't feel like it should have headlined the show. I would have had it go on after Goldberg vs. Konnan.
@BlueOpinion

They shoulda ignored the Starcade aftermath and not forced sting to vacate the title and talk for the first time..... on Thunder. He shoulda been a silent champion till March 98 and started a feud with WCW management making his turn to the Wolfpac more believable.
@travisb.honest2438
@travisb.honest2438 9 ай бұрын
You know what would have been a great main event for Great American Bash and makes me wish they actually had more tag teams that mattered. They could of had Giant (nWo) and Sting (wolfpac) vs. a tag team representing WCW in a winner keeps the gold match. If Giant won then the tag titles would go to the nWo and a partner of his choosing. If Sting won then the title would go to the Wolfpac and a partner of his choice. If the un-named tag team in this senerio won then the tag title would come back to WCW. It would have Giant and Sting having to work together but also having to break up their own teammates pins, because if the team wins one of them would still lose the belt.

Oh wcw Where you had all the top stars of the 80’s and 90’s and none wanted to go cleanly over for the others and you almost never wanted to give fans a satisfying conclusion ever. So much of this company’s eventual downfall can be tied to “nobody figured out what comes after Starcade 97”. Everything they do this year should have been “the next chapter”, but all they ever did was advance the story a half inch and then immediately backtrack. It started promisingly with the Nwo breaking up, then nothing really came of it and it was all gone by finger poke. Also, you have Brett hart since 1997. He’s in his first main event by war games

WCW In 1998 Star Power vs WWE In 1998 Or 2000. 1998 WCW Most Successful Year Financially And 2000 The WWE Most Successful Year Financially. WCW Had Far More Star Power And Matches Of Star Power. WCW In 1998 Had Far More Star Power Than WWE In 1998. In 2000 WCW Had Least Star Power Because Of Vince Russo. Russo Said Because Of The Absence Of Austin, Undertaker/Big Show & Cactus Jack & The WWE Having The Least Number Of Built Muscular Heavyweights Than Any Year In The 90's And Attitude Era And Less Stars On The Roster Than WCW That It Wouldn't Kill WCW If He Had Writen Most Of The Top Stars Off Television. Like When People Had Said All The WWE Had Were Stone Cold & The Undertaker. VS All DA Star Power WCW Had. WCW In-Ring Work During Attitude Era Blew The WWE Out Of The Water. Plus WCW Stars Were Far Better. WCW Roster Was Better For 80% Of The Attitude Era And 70% The Mondays Night War. I Never Seen Company More Overly Criticized Than WCW. It's Just Disgusting.

At 46:28 it was much, much more than just 20% of all homes that lost the feed. This company botch cost them tens of millions just for that last match to not air alone which was the final nail in the coffin for WCW. The product afterwards went downhill like throwing a rock down into the Grand Canyon, it was that fast. Sad too as they had great talent who did not get showcased as much as they deserved and should have dropped the NWO stuff while they had value at the time, but by then even the NWO was a shell of its former heel glory and a watered down version of them. When half the roster is a member of the NWO that was what really caused them to not be a true threat to WCW anymore. Sad too because WCW had such deep history and roots to wrestling during the Territory days, and we could really benefit right no at having the Territory system back and with a traveling champion too who doesn't drop the title every week like WWE, or AEW...that just makes the title a joke and have no special meaning.

Man, how many PPVs for WCW were basically wasted on Hogan wanting petty revenge for things that happened in the WWF? I'm not just talking the WrestleMania 6 rematch there with Ultimate Warrior. But think of all those Roddy Piper matches in WCW as well which, I always figured he had a hand in because he basically always humiliated Piper in the matches much to my consternation as a Piper fan back in the day.
