I wouldn't call it hoarding, more like just laziness, it's 95% old food packaging, hoarders actually have things worth some value, more likely he has a substance abuse problem & that's all he cares about, so eat, (substance of choice), sleep, work, repeat.
@IveJustHadAPiss3 ай бұрын
@@mitchellgardner2193 Some hoarders hoard things of very little value to others, like boxes and plastic bags. Once hoarding becomes obstructive, you often see their places degenerate, as it's impossible to maintain a normal home when there's loads of stuff in the way. For example, if your bin is full to the brim and you have clamber over a load of other shit to get there, guess where it's going to go? Yep, the floor. Aside from that, many people with chronic depression have motivational deficits that beggar belief. However, it's important to remember that depression affects individuals differently, and what may seem like a simple task to you can be incredibly challenging for others. Depression can drain a person's motivation, energy, and even their ability to carry out daily activities. While setting an alarm can be a helpful tool, it doesn't magically eliminate the deep-seated feelings of despair, emptiness, and fatigue that individuals with depression often face. It's not just a matter of hitting the snooze button for a few extra minutes. It's a constant battle to find the strength to face each day and carry out even the most basic tasks.

I’ve been watching your videos for a while. At first, I couldn’t even imagine what should had happened to somebody that their home turns into this. And now I almost got there myself. Watching your videos made me realize that it’s okay to struggle, and everyone deserves help and having a clean home. Thank you for your kindness, everything you do means a huge lot.

I’m sorry for my question, I’m just curious about why being a hoarder? What could be the reason for not wanting to take out the trash
@Tacosrock5011 ай бұрын
@@gulnazsafiullina3703 idk the answer to ur question but i know hoarding is a type of OCD mental disorder so i dont think its as simple as not wanting to take the trash out.
@ferris143511 ай бұрын
@@gulnazsafiullina3703 it's a disorder really. i struggle with hoarding tendencies and you form an emotional attatchment to everything, even trash like empty food wrappers. that, combined with executive dysfunction in my case, makes it nearly impossible to just throw things out. it's like if you were trying to burn old pictures of you and your best friend from high school, except burn is donate and old pictures is old clothes.
@nicksouriya900811 ай бұрын
@@ferris1435 you would never need to burn them in the first place trash = garbage = meaningless
@MaryJane-zw5pv11 ай бұрын
@@gulnazsafiullina3703there are different types of hoarding. I also struggle with hoarding... I used to be the type of person who showered twice a day and was always VERY organized. I'm 30 and for the past 7 years or so I have been very physically sick. I have been unable to work a normal job so I started selling stuff on ebay. I would go thrifting on the days I had to go to the dr. (which at one point was 6 days a week)... to make a long story a little less long, I became so piled with shit that I couldn't sell or wanted to keep to sell on a "rainy day" when I needed the money....my house isn't big by any means and I have become overwhelmed with stuff.. I'm working on it. but it has become VERY hard to get rid of things. in turn making it hard to clean because I have no space for anything. and it is like I'm constantly just "moving the mess", but not getting rid of it... I also have always been a crafter so I have all sorts of things like that and containers etc that COULD BE repurposed and scrap wood etc. and paint.. and idk what. Hoarding is like the perfect storm in my opinion... if I wasn't sick, I would be able to get a decent job and make some money and wouldn't be so worried about "saving every little thing"... if I wasn't so worried about Penny pinching because I never know where my money is coming from, I would be far more inclined to get rid of all this stuff too.. but even if I make a dollar... it's like that is a dollar i need and didn't have before.. if I didn't have so much stuff everywhere, i would be able to get this house cleaner/clean. it is a pile of things literally and figuratively speaking. And where you/anyone would just think or say: living like that is ridiculous and/or gross!! just buckle down and get it done man! I think the same thing the start of most days, but then one way or another get sick or overwhelmed and give up before I get everything I wanted to done. I have found that resilience is definitely key. I am in no way where I want to be, but I am better than where I was... so even if I chip away at it little by little, at least it is something even if it isn't as much as I want it to be. There are also aspects of hoarding when it comes to collecting that I struggle with...when my daughter got really into barbies, it brought back all of my love for barbies etc back lol so even though she is older and doesn't even care much about them, I still have like 99% of it all which i know needs to all go too. it is just a mess. I think a lot of people who struggle with hoarding do not only have mental/emotional issues, I believe a lot of it is physical also. like a lot of us also have health issues that make it hard for us to physically clean or do things also. which makes it all culminate into what is shown in these videos here on KZbin. it is sad and it sucks. I think a lot of us say to ourselves "if only I could get to a point where i only have to maintain this house instead of clean this ALL"... and I love that this woman helps people get their houses back so that they can function and have that feeling.
