Great information. Thank you. I am a 2 fisted drinker that looks crazy to some but dysautonomia means chronic dehydration. I carry electrolyte powder everywhere. And thanks to you, I added an emergency instant coffee as it is medicine. Got a wine bottle insulated bag to keep my hands free. The instant coffee has warded off many migraines. Very grateful to have found this channel.

Each individual's EDC is different. Carry what you need. I live on an off-grid Homestead so I'm always using a knife. Carry a fixed blade, folder and high end multi-tool. Bandana. Olight flashlight (after dark a headlamp). Chapstick, BIC lighter with duct tape. Ferro Rod and knife sharpener combo. Cash. TQ and mini IFAK. And lastly Nitrile Gloves...because we have a lot of 💩 on the Homestead.

i have a water bottle bag from self reliance outfitters. i can get my grayl , a ss cup, and a military poncho in the main compartment. i fold the poncho as flat as i can, line one side of the main compartment with it, put the ss cup in first, and push the grayl into the bag. a hank of paracord and my compass go in the flap of the main compartment. the bag has a decent sized zippered pocket on the side. my fire kit, ferro rod, bic, marble match safe, cotton balls with vaseline, sharpie and small note pad in the zippered pocket. the bag has a nice strap to carry it with. works for me.

How to carry your multi tool in your pocket: 1. Put it in the sheath. 2. Run strong cord through the belt loop until it seems enough will hang out of the pocket. 3. Put the unit in your pocket and run the end of the cord under your belt. 4. Put the end of the cord against the rest of the the cord above your belt and pull up until the bottom of the unit is just above the bottom of your pocket but not sticking out of the pocket. 5. Cut and knot the cord accordingly. I know I could’ve just said dummy-cord it to your belt, but other people not familiar with these things are reading this too. Using this method, I don’t wear out my pockets, no one knows I have the tool, and I nearly always have a readily accessible knife on me in case I need to cut something fast. That knife, due to insane restrictions I can barely tolerate, is usually a buck 110lt folder; by holding the spine of the blade tightly and giving a sharp hard flick, I can rapidly open it one-handed. G'day JJ. Great pocket dump/kit you've got there. All the necessities. The girls have similar carry but it's half of your carry. Our environment is different to yours hence the different kit. The twins customise their Grayl holster, it could be carried either vertical (waist side) or horizontal (backside/scout carry). Easy to make with leather or kydex. They also carry a flat-water bottle, frozen in summer to keep themselves cool or warm in winter to keep their core temperature stable. Besides their full tang, they always have two customised hunting boomerangs on them at all times. Fuel the Fire.!!

Excellent advice. Here are some things I do... I like to carry at least 2 different ways of starting a fire. 3 or 4 is even better. And they are never stored in the same place. If my bag gets lost, I'll still have a ferro rod in my pocket. Vaseline soaked cotton balls are great with a ferro rod. I also like the Zippo waterproof matches. My daughter braids useful items from paracord. Like watch bands, belts, bino straps, etc. That helps with the total tonnage. Water bottles are tough to carry efficiently. If you have a pack, I usually carry mine in an extrerior pocket or go with a bladder. Something that I do is pack my stuff in an order of importance. For instance, fire starters and water bottles are in easy access areas. Tarps, blankets, extra clothing will be deeper in my pack. If I carry something for a year and never use it, it gets removed from my EDC, unless it is something essential for emergency survival like water tabs.

One of my preferences in folding knives is that if it can be had with at least two blades, then that’s the one to usually get. This is why I chose the super tool over the original Leatherman, and it’s one of the most efficient purchases of my life.

Ah yes the bottle problem! I gave up trying to find a normal looking stainless steel bottle to carry in my Helikon Tex kit bag. I carry the scout flash from pathfinder with the cup. Much easier to carry/fit in smaller bags. And you have the bonus of getting strange looks whenever you use it.

Great video as always. I use a 5.11 PUSH Pack. They're about 6 L and got a lot of options for a EDC. I carry a 20 oz stainless steel bottle in the outside pouch I'm pretty sure that Grail bottle will fit in there

Two EDC’s I’ve had for a couple decades: Gerber multiplier (Military Issued w/needlenose), Leatherman Crunch (folding vise grip). They’re in belt pouches, opposite side to my IWB holster

I carry a DIY 2 in x 3 in Survival Device comprising a retractable whistle, water purification tab container with s Silva compass glued to the lid, a ferrocerium rod, removable 650 lumen flashlight, tinder container and diamond knife/hook sharpener. All items on the back/edge of my Signal Mirror with removable lanyard for wear around my neck, tored on my belt or chest pack. A rubber band secures a freznel lens and flat folding knife on the mirror side and supports a hank of 75 ft of 400 test strength kevlar cordage on the gear side. Just ordered the Wazoo fire card - thanks, always good to have addition tinder the same size as my Survival Device,

The same company that makes the Grail makes a hip pack which also works well as a small sling bag that has an integrated sling underneath it specifically for the Grail filter bottles. If you wear it as a hip pack it also has an expandable pouch designed for another water bottle. Hope this helps.

Wow, and I thought I was carrying a lot of stuff! Thankyou, my kit seems super minimalist compared to all that. Although, 90% of that I keep off-body in a backpack, which is itself part of my EDC. All sorts of goodies tucked in the crevices. But the best thing about the backpack is the empty space. Seems weird, but part of my EDC is an empty backpack. Innumerable options and uses for a large empty main pocket.

Other than what you mentioned, I carry pumpkin seeds along with nuts, and beef jerky. Whole pumpkin seeds are nutritional. But the rest of your kit is great. Like you said each person needs to decide what's important to them and use what you carry. Thank you 👍

The Canadian Military used to have a heavy Steel hot thermos [ it was hefty for 750 ml ] and it was carried in an insulated pouch that had a nice solid shoulder strap . I've long since lost the thermos , but I still have the carry pouch [ it's pretty streamline and OD green ] and I use it to carry my Grayl Geopress which fits pretty snuggly in there , it'll probably help keep my Geopress from freezing in the cold . I'm not sure but maybe you could find one online in a Canadian Surplus Store . Another possibility would be an Outdoor Research [ OR ] 1 Liter Water Bottle Parka , they won't fit the Geopress but they might fit the smaller one .

Years ago I was reading Jill Homer’s book about racing (Mountain Bikes) the Great Divide Race and I believe she was talking about the efforts of another endurance racer’s to find the most calories for the least money that would be available in nearly any 7-11/convenience store and the answer was… Payday Bars. Tried it, and they work remarkably well for usually much less than the cost of a Cliff Bar. I keep a few in my kits as emergency energy bars. Oh yeah… they taste awesome (as long as you’re not allergic to peanuts). Lemme know what you think!

In the name of redundancy, having a knitted cap with a brim long enough to roll down over your eyes could be useful as make-shift sunglasses that aren't reflective. As well as blotting out light for easier sleep/not losing night vision, I guess. I'm a proponent of nuts, sometimes mixed with whole coffee beans.

Enjoyed the video, thank you!! I am happy you mentioned clothing and footwear! I was a first responder as well and learned the importance of training in your "regular clothing" footwear included. I choose to wear a western / outback style hats and have adapted them to be able to carry certain small items similar to your baseball caps. Belt wise though I wear a leather belt with a classic belt buckle. 😉 The belt is a good strop when needed and the belt and buckle are an effective solution to assist in hand to hand or knife. I thought I carried a lot in my pockets but I don't carry squat compared to you. Right front pocket is a Bic lighter, a ferro rod, small bag of tinder tabs, Swiss army knife and a bug out clone. On my belt is my multitool, right rear pocket is a mylar blanket, bandana, lockpick set and duct tape. Wallet in left rear pocket. Left front pocket is a whirl pak water bag and a dozen purification tablets, 6' paracord,24-25' #18. bankline and a small fishing kit, shirt pocket is a signal mirror, flashlight and a fresnel lens and around my neck is a whistle and a button light. Sometimes I add a Mora😢 Companion HD around my neck and/or a larger full tang knife on my belt.

Nice load out. If that federal building is a screening post with x-ray and magnetometer, and its worked by qualified, professional PSOs, depending on what you have in that belt and if its considered a prohibited item for that post, would dictate if you stay or take the walk back to the car.

No-one, ever mentions a laser pointer as an EDC. Good for 50 meters+. Small, though a beam in the face will have anyone looking away. No vision, no attack. Anyone can buy, carry a small laser pointer. Green seems to be less obvious though a stronger beam. You're welcome.

I carry my grail titanium in a water bottle holder like the pathfinder ones or the maxpedition ones I think mine is a cheap rip off company, but it has worked well for me. I also carry a lighter in there a cup that fits the grill, a small iso butane canister and a small BRS 1000 stove. I think it’s called. I also stick some electrolyte type drink mix things in there too and some cutlery and chopsticks cause I’m sick of wood and plastic cutlery. That stuff has come in handy a few times.

When we had kids I started carrying a “man purse”. I started with a vanquest sling bag with a CCW pocket. Mostly because I need the hot wheels, binky, formula, wet wipes, and extra clothes. Kids are nasty little creatures. Now days I rock the Tuff Possum Shackleton I don’t go anywhere without it. I hate having things in my pockets because the Army didn’t like it and I became indoctrinated. It is my go to man purse. It holds everything I need. Including the CCW. Yes, I carry off body, yes, keep your opinion to yourself because I didn’t ask. Yes, I train with it off body. Yes. I any or may not carry extra hot wheels still.

Cool- the secret is a thin sleeve of Kydex that fits perfectly under the inner sleeve… Now my T-Rex and Tier-1 holsters work perfect 👌🏻

Not 100% sure how reliable/durable they all are, but I'm sure you can get some good brands out there in the US.

I use military surplus stuff. You’ll have to eyeball your stuff and then physically inspect what’s available at whatever stores to find what you need. The cool thing about milsurp is that you can carefully customize things as you see fit without worrying about super expensive mistakes, and the durability is very military.

@@gonzalez7805 I've recently been in 9 of the federal buildings around me and the only thing they have is X-ray machines for bags, & a metal detector doorway, & a wand. Walked in with a 3 inch push knife blade into all of them. Don't over estimate them.

Too much stuff in your pockets. Why not use a canvas pouch on your belt or two. Then your organized with like similar related stuff in each pouch.

Everything I have builds on itself.. I do have a custom canvas dump pouch I wear most of the time.. Sometimes I will transfer items to a small backpack.. I guess I’ve been wearing this stuff for so long it feels weird without it.. I don’t notice the weight and it definitely doesn’t look bulky or feel weird when moving…

I'm going to say it. A Glock over a .45 is Ludacris. You're chancing over penetration. and no guarantee the target will go down without multiple shots. That's just my opinion and that's all that it is.

Anyone ever watch these videos and think there is no way that these guys actually carry every single one of these items everyday? Like literally everyday, no exceptions. Feels like a lot of the time they are showing things they carry but probably not all together all the time. Not trying to throw shade, if he carries all this every single day, more power to him but I always find myself doubting it. Also, I guess it depends on whether you’re in a setting that is appropriate to wear pants with 17 pockets every day haha. I would probably carry this much shit if that were my context as well.

EDC doesn't necessarily mean on-body. I carry a lot of useful gadgets but mostly off-body in a small backpack. I have access to all the things this guy put on the table, but stashed in my "man-purse" instead of jammed in all my pants pockets. Only a small flashlight in one pocket, and my multitool and mini-bic in the other. Oh yeah, and Mr Roscoe in appendix-carry IWB, because I too am an American living in a constitutional carry state, so fuck yeah. Anyway.. I'm in agreement, that's a lot of stuff. But it's the level of need & dedication forming these kinds of choices. I keep my body as free from "things" as possible because extra stuff reduces ease of movement. I decided it was more important to me to be able to move fast if needed, and simply carry all that stuff in a backpack, or a smaller kit inside a fanny-pack.

@ yeah, I totally agree off body is the way if carrying this amount of stuff imo. I carry a gun, a knife, a flashlight, a small OC. Add in the usual phone, keys, wallet and the desire to have some pocket space left over for anything else I might need to throw in and that pretty much maxes me out for on body. Could I carry more? Sure but not without compromising movement and some degree of comfort. If I’m going into a crowded environment, I’ll add a spare mag and some medical to on body carry but that’s situation dependent. Obviously setting matters, too. I’m pretty unlikely to find myself doing bushcraft if my car breaks down on the way to the grocery store here in the city. Sometimes, I just feel like the EDC world can turn into a weird pissing match where he who carries the most shit wins.

I absolutely do and there are several videos that went viral of me being doing impromptu pocket dumps at different events 😂 Brandon at Battlbox did the last one.. PNW Bushcraft made me do it at Georgia Bushcraft this year as well.. I’m wearing it all right now in my kitchen ☝🏻
