A great storage tip I discovered is to store your out of season blankets or comforters between the mattress and box spring. Just arrange them so they are flat. It makes the bed softer and takes up no space.

And for paper storage it's perfect, because they're flat and not interfering with what's in the cabinet. I'm so tired of seeing "Oh, I put hooks on my cabinet door for this super bulky thing!" And you close the door how? Or everything has to be shoved way back so you're loosing shelf space in your cabinet. Not here. She's always so practical I love it.

Im a guy but in all my backpacks, toolboxes, etc I like to use the zippered pencil pouches that are everywhere during back-to-school time. Many even have two separate zippered compartments and they come in many different colors so I can create a color organization system and they have mesh or clear fronts to see whats inside them. Besides being great for organizing they also work well on thier own as First Aid kits and the like. Much sturdier than Ziplock bags.

@@adelainemay I used to use Ibotta and don’t anymore because it wasn’t accepting grocery pickup receipts, which is all I’ve done the last 2 years. With Fetch, they accept it because it scans your email inbox for the receipts. My thing is that it doesn’t accept any orders or receipts from instacart or other delivery service! I’ve used so much of it especially since COVID and continue since I’m paying the sub fee, plus the orders are usually a good size since I don’t want to and can’t afford to keep placing min orders with the tips every time! I just realized this and was bummed. I even tried printing out my receipts and uploading, but the co says it can’t take the at all. I still use it, but Just a heads up!

Another tip along the lines of those wire baskets.... Those wire cube storage things for closets, or whatever (they're like 14x14, and connect together with those round things..lol). Use Command Hooks at the top 2 corners and one or two at the bottom - and they can be put up around a desk/office for bins or small baskets - or even use small binder clips for papers - or even for the little baskets!! Then you're not putting holes in walls to hang up a cork board, white board or whatever.

I have a small accordion cancelled check file that has 12 months January-December. It’s 9.5” x 4.5”. I put all my receipts in it, except those needed for taxes (they go in a separate file folder). If I need to return anything, I can easily find the receipt. At the end of the year, I take a quick look to see if I need anything; if not, they go in the trash. It’s a “safety net” for people like me who worry that I might need the receipt for some reason. It’s been very helpful for me.

I've been thinking about labeling my fridge for quite a while. Your video got me to say "Okay, I'll just do it!" To get around my aversion to residue if I "make a mistake" and want to change things later, I use Avery removable labels from the office supply store. When I opened my fridge, I got overwhelmed at the thought of having to move everything around, so I decided I could just do the labels now and trust that I will gradually get things in their proper place, or maybe tomorrow will be a better brain day for me. There's something about taking action in the real world that changes my experience. Even though I put the labels exactly where I've been imagining them, it feels better to actually have them there. Hooray!

Definitely some great tips and tricks here!! I hate clutter on my counters too! I am blessed to have an amazing 10x10 walk in pantry with wall to wall shelves, cabinets, countertops, upright freezer, and some open shelving. It’s amazing. But I’ve also lived where there is no pantry, too, so I can totally relate. ❤️ love those cord keepers! Such a great idea and now they’re on my shopping list for today!! 😁

I bought the 3M hooks for cord wrangling and put it on the back of my Keurig and instant pot and now they’re out of the way instead of my constantly tucking them out of sight. Genius!

Those clothes pins in the cabinets to hold bills and such is genius. I didn't even wait until the video was over before heading for my supply of clothes pins (I use them as chip clips instead of buying expensive chip clips) and my Command strips. Four clothes pins hung and ready to go!

another little trick for the command broom hooks....I have a lot of hair brushes and instead of them laying all over the counter or taking up space in the drawer, i hang on the wall near my makeup area.

The labeling idea for the fridge sounds good, but could you believe a husband and teen daughter still can't follow that? 😆😆😆

Lol! It figures. I labeled all my son’s drawers one time. What a wasted effort! You’d think he couldn’t read at age 15!

Kathleen, that's cuz they know you will straighten everything, or pick it up. I knew a lady who gathered everything that wasn't where it belonged. Everyone had to do a chore to get things back.

You know, I've watched tons of organisation vids but yours are the absolute best. You have the best tips and you are the most realistic. I've starting using a few already and they really work! Thank you so much, you are my favourite. I'm from England hence the UK spelling :-) xxx

I use rubber bands to hold the eclectic cords of my appliances and hair bands to hold the cords to my blower dryer, flat iron and curling iron. Our stores here do not carry all the different things the command hooks have so I had to make due.

You can teach a 3 year old (I would randomly and only occasionally start the habit at two if they are up for it) to read. By using all of these labels you already have in place the building blocks to start. Put a label on...we will use “refrigerator “ for an example. You have a label on the refrigerator that says “refrigerator “ and each time you go to the refrigerator you make a game of it, “What is this”? It’s a refrigerator, and reinforce it when they say it. Then if you’re there to get juice, you have a label on the shelf for juice and you play the game again. What’s this? It’s juice, yea that’s right juice. I learned to read at 3 years old and it taught me how to learn. I told a friend about this and in about two or three months they had their child beginning to read . Children learn to read words by the shape of the word. Like refrigerator has a better shape than cat, bat and hat. When they get a little older and easily recognize the words the you start to point out the spelling of the words. Especially if you have a new baby coming this is a game you play only with the first borne and it gives them a sense that they have special things they do with you that the baby doesn’t. You obviously need that because the first child is used to having you to themselves. And finally, put labels where diapers go and when you can ask the first child (is it Miles?) to bring you a diaper and encourage him to help take care of the baby. It will build a bond with them and the baby and they won’t feel left out. I hope explained this right. Good luck and God Bless you and the little ones, you’re going to need it. I’m so happy for you. I love your organization method and I will be checking in to hopefully hear more about the newest member of your family and how you organize and prepare for them. Is it a girl or a boy? etc. oh, and congratulations 🎊🎈🎉

Keep receipts, especially in 2020 so you have a record of where you are for contact tracing. Also until they clear your credit card in case you need to dispute them and I have had to. So glad to see someone else who labels the fridge, also saves time finding things and making grocery lists. I have labels in my linens draw.
