Tip: for this to be even more helpful (reflective of natural spoken Mandarin speed), try bumping up the play back by 1.75 or 2.
For any one wondering. all the 3 tones will change exept the last one in a sentence like this 我也很好 intead of being wo(3)ye(3)hen(3)hao(3) or being as some people think= wo(2)ye(3)hen(2)hao(3). it'll be wo(2)ye(2)hen(2)hao(3) there is a lot of videos where chinese people explain it jaja so all the 3 tones will go 2 tones and the last one of all thos 3 tones will remain the same hope i helped

I'm sorry, it's wrong. 我也很好should be read as wo(2)ye(3)hen(2)hao(3). It depends on word pairs.

In my countless hours of youtube Chinese learning I've learned that it might be helpful for male learners to have some male voices do some stuff. It's not a big difference, but I think it might be a little easier for me to get the tones more natural if I was hearing it at the same approximate vocal range. But alas, male language instructors are pretty rare. I'll get it either way.

I struggle a bit to translate this "slow speaking" into the normal speed you would use in a conversation. Both in using it myself and in unterstanding what is being said. Ill just listen to this a bunch, try my best and hope it helps.

How often should I practice this? Also do you have a version with complete sentences ?

If you are a beginner, you can practice it at your own pace anytime. Yes, we have systematic courses available to practice words & dialogues with sentences at our site: www.everydaychinese.com/

The tongue position is the same as for sh, ch, zh sounds. That's all I can say in the comments. You have to listen for the r sound somewhere (obviously)

Next time you do a video like this, can you NOT over exaggerate the tones. The problem most people face isn’t listening to the exaggerated tones, the problem is listening to Chinese people speak regularly and understanding the tones.
@EverydayChinese11 ай бұрын
Thanks for your feedback.
@Sage-and-Scholar11 ай бұрын
I second this most whole-heartedly. It is great to over-exaggerate the tones initially for learning, but the only people who speak with over-exaggerated tones in China are news reporters. The rest is quite lax. It is okay to be less than perfect in the world outside the classroom. But, at the same time, a strong foundation is necessary.
@sabrynnakelly11905 ай бұрын
I don't think that was a problem. I am a beginner, and her lesson helped me so much. I was completely clueless about the rhythm of the tone pairs before this lesson. Even though a faster approach would be incredibly appreciated in another next video, this lesson was perfectly executed in my humble opinion. Thank you so much! ❤
