I love how so many European cars with this much power have small V10's or V12's, sometimes with a small turbo, and then Chrysler in America was like "nope, screw you, we'll beat you with a big, obnoxious supercharged V8 for 33-50% of the cost"

First: This is THE muscle car. Second: stop complaining 'bout the so called "unability to corner" and the high weight. This is a muscle car, and that means a big and powerful as hell V8 that can throw it through the 1/4 in the quickesr way possible. The rest are things of secondary importance. If you buy a muscle car you don't buy it for twisty mountain roads. You buy it for crusung and for having great straightline performance. If you want to corner buy a Camaro, which is a great handling pony car. Oh, and MOPAR FTW!!!!

I can't ever get tired of all the positive stuff that is said about this awesome American Muscle. I'm a huge and have been a Ford Mustang fanatic, but I have to say this MOPAR is bad ass!! Unfortunately If Ford made a Mustang with this much horsepower than what would be the purpose of owning a Shelby...just the name brand cause I know SVT is more than capable of making more then 700+ horsepower. But I truly tip my hat off for Dodge. Great work guys! This is an amazing piece of American muscle.

This is definitely not an apples to apples comparo. Obviously the z28 is a pure track car with oil coolers on just about everything to perform amazingly repeatedly. The hellcat is more a GT car with actual room for 4 and the kind of power that makes u giggle like a school girl on the rare occasions u call all the ponies out. Both amazing cars. Id personally take the hellcat though.

Great review guys. I've watched it a couple times now and learn something new every time. Just bought a '15 SRT 392 and just love it. @Texarmageddon9 жыл бұрын
Highway Cruiser Look I get you .. Don't want to argue about it and you think Im just hating and that's really not the case. Im just honestly upset how the car blatantly ignores the rules of Demand and supply. It sits on a chassis that's shared between three cars. It shares engines from numerous vehicles. It's not implementing some special metal to bring weight down. Nor is it implementing world class suspension such as Magnetic ride control. Extra Space doesn't justify the extra change their asking of you. Still a gorgeous car, but there is a reason why the car is dead last in sales.
@highwaycruiser64869 жыл бұрын
Texarmageddon you are so damn right! This thing sucks all day long compared to anything with "Magnetic ride control" or "special metal" / This is sooo coooooooool that people don't pay attention to this shit of HEMI and don't buy them because of everything above and " the extra change". I'm happy that everyone else who don't share those beliefs can buy this crappy shit of hell and admire it as long as it can survive in their hands. I'm so proud you allocated some time of you to share your opinion with me and everyone else. that's great, usually nobody pays attention to me in internet. Cheers!!

Great video guys! Havent seen very many people focus on the handling/driving aspects of the car. Good to know that if you need to, it will take the twisties albeit reluctantly. Question: You didn't touch on the ride or braking quality. Is the ride more muscle car traditional or Euro-firm? Keep up the great work!
@Kingsoupturbo10 жыл бұрын
Agreed, that info would have been cool to know as well! great review, you can see the speed of that machine in some of the shots, nice!
@EverydayDriver10 жыл бұрын
xTouragx - We knew the burnout and sheer power part of the Hellcat have been well covered, but, as stated, there's more the driving than that! We're very pleased you enjoy our approach. To your questions - The ride is adjustable in the Hellcat, so you can vary the feel for cruising or for track work, with variation between. And the brakes are pretty great... just not as great as the Carbon Ceramic monsters on the Z28. Thanks for being a regular viewer!
@Kingsoupturbo10 жыл бұрын
EverydayDriver You guys have shifted your focus a bit in the more recent reviews to cover positive aspects of the cars that aren't always spoken about in other reviews while cutting out a bit of the negative which makes for a more fun watch. Its a more Chris harris style review, more humble, technical, and really show appreciation for the machine, no matter what kind of car it is, where its from, and that you guys, albeit experienced reviewers who have been in many fast cars, are not better then whatever it is you are driving, keep up the super reviews! Great camera work and editing too ))

The Z/28 is all brakes and tires, neither of which are made by GM.
@MarimbaNation10 жыл бұрын
***** I meant that in reference to the "party trick" comment. A majority of the Z/28's dynamic/character/praise are based around it's braking and gripping abilities which say more about Pirelli and Brembo than GMs engineering. You can easily forget how great the entire drivetrain and aero-modifications are to that vehicle because those brakes and tires are absolutely mindblowing products from two of the best brands in their respective fields.

A lot of people say it’s not a track car or will not turn but the show grand tour put a 2015 hellcat challenger against a Aston Martin DB11 on an Italian track and was only slower around the track by less than half a second. I truly suspect it lost only because the DB11 is a British car on a British show that almost always favors British cars.

Nice review guys ! Always good to eat your opinion. I'm having these thoughts - only speculating- if Fiat could make some kind of Pantera revival. Hellcat engine in rear engine-rear drive car Ferrari suspension and electronic-handling and Fiat badge and price. Ford is doing GT 40 all over again so could Fiat-Chrysler. Fiat really needs good promotion in USA if they intend to stay on that market.

How long ago was this video initially filmed? I saw a Hellcat two weekends ago that had a very distinctive Hellcat emblem behind the front fender well, it didn't say Challenger. Granted that was a dealer sample that Dodge drove over to show off to a gathering of the Viper club, but I can't imagine they would have stripped off the badge for the production car. It's subtle enough that you still need to know what to look for.

Why didn't Dodge strip some weight?? 4500 POUNDS is no joke. Imagine how better it could have been if it was a bit lighter. There ALWAYS has to be something wrong with Dodge products; I can't get over this number. I'm no a Ford fan but the GT500 is a whopping 600 pounds less than the hefty Hellcat and THAT is considered a heavy car. pffff
@aryaahmadi40299 жыл бұрын
Arya Ahmadi Hope Dodge puts this Hellcat on a diet for the next gen models.
@bbtman19 жыл бұрын
+Arya Ahmadi You have to keep in mind that they want that weight. Yea it is a heavy car but it needs to be. You are putting 707bhp to the back wheels. You need some weight on the girl to keep her down.......and besides even at 4500lbs it still does 200mph and that is just damn impressive.
@convex74566 жыл бұрын
Isnt it all steel? If another car hits you. The hellcat will come out on top! Lol. Ya and weight keeps them rear wheels down
@Ghostryter819 жыл бұрын
One thing you have to factor into this car compared to its competitors is the fun factor and you can only get that behind the wheel. So quoting numbers around a track and how much the car weighs sounds nice to pick at but you can't really decide on a car's worth until your actually behind the wheel. And every review i watched on this car every reviewer seems to look like they are having more fun than in the Z06 or Z28 or Boss 302 or Shelby GT500 or etc......etc.....makes me want to get one when I'm done with my Boss 302 in about 3 more years of payments, lol.

This is my take on the hell cat, if I’m gonna buy a muscle car for under 70k I want the best possible car, and yes handling and cornering are important but thats not why people buy this type of car.
