I’ve had good luck with my 2010. Done good maintenance and the biggest problem I’ve had is cam phasers, but it wasn’t crazy expensive to fix. Truck has 165k and runs strong.

*F.O.R.D. means FOUND ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD DEAD.* I once had a Ford Mechanic who worked at their dealership tell me he would never purchase one. Sure they are fancy looking (the trucks that is) but none of their vehicles are worth crap. The people who love them are wealthy men who have money to burn so they can fix whatever happens to the truck. Everytime it breaks. Money is no object to them.

Ford needs to bring back the very reliable 4.9 in-line 6. This motor was indestructable

RAM 1500 is number 1 and Dodge RAM 1500 is number 4. I thought Dodge moved all RAMs over to their own segment. Is this a typo or does Dodge have a RAM back in its lineup in 23?

My 2017 F150 limited transmission went out at 46k miles. Last Ford I will ever own!!!
@caseyedds2032 Жыл бұрын
Those F150 with the engine issues are nearly universally in regards to the 5.4 3v. However, an identical truck with the mediocre, 4.6 2v it is nearly as reliable as every police interceptor that has ever been. Right?
@WALL-E559 Жыл бұрын
Are maintenance repairs differentiated between normal wear and tear, quality related repairs, repairs required because the customer exceeded one or more parameters of the trucks capacity and ran the truck too hard? There are soo many variables to take account of.
@daveruggles4450 Жыл бұрын
Does this take into account the total units in service? The ratio of failures to quantity in service is what is important to me.

I just purchased a used 2020 Nissan Titan pro-4x with 36k miles. Maintenance seems fairly straightforward as long as you periodically clean the intake valves - common issue with direct injection engines.
@honda116969 Жыл бұрын
That's the only reason I'm concerned with that new 3.8L in the frontier that's why I personally like the Tacoma because they run that d-4s technology so you don't have to worry about those intake valves but that is a super nice truck you got. I like midsize but I would prefer that over a lot of the competition if I bought full-size truck
@aarone9454 Жыл бұрын
George I definitely share your concern with direct injection engines. Unfortunately it seems that most manufacturers are heading in that direction. Fortunately there are a few different methods for maintaining the intake valves.

@@DeathsInverse it’s kinda a joke since Ram was in 1st place. 2023 truck is too new to have the tranny go out. Wait for about 1-2 years.

Add Ford Maverick Hybrid to the list. Since purchase 3000 miles. I had 2 engine check lights. And 2 other issues, and its still in repair. So 3000 miles, 4 different issues. 3 of them affecting driving.

Toyotas, Fords, and Rams look good and drive good. I would be willing to repair and/or aftermarket upgrade. I would also be likely to keep those brands long term. GM and Nissan, hard pass. Don’t care for them new and without problems, definitely wouldn’t care for them with some miles and issues.
