I love it because it's basically a nicer Civic Si (last gen) with an automatic. I love the Si but I'm the only one in my family that can drive a manual...and that's a no go in an emergency situation where someone else would have to drive my car. It's the perfect car for me, which is why I plan on picking one up very soon.

This is exactly why the ILX is on my short list. I want a fun car that my wife can also enjoy driving. I'm honestly getting sick of the automotive press and commentariat complaining about the lack of manual transmissions in cars. Automatics and DCTs today are faster and more fuel efficient. Whenever I get the urge to drive a stick, I remember the months I spent with a 35-mile one-way commute in Chicago traffic that I had to endure while owning one. Never again.

Have this car in my garage, and Love it. Love the 2.4L engine with the DCT. Out of all the Honda's and Acura's imo, best looking car and even amongst its competitors. Just love being in the car. I love cars for the feel and driving experience, I couldn't care less about infotainment systems. Couple sources say this car is 0-60mph 6.2-6.7 sec which is very decent. This car is the total package in its price range.

I own a 2016 ILX and it is a great vehicle. Very good on gas. I don't like the headroom in it, but it has a v-tech engine and has get up and go. This car is going to my daughter when she graduates high school and will be a great companion for when she goes to college. A no hassle, no maintenance vehicle that only needs oil changes. Mixed bag for the Acura ILX: Pros: I Love the traditional gauge cluster (tacho and speed) and dashboard , and traditional shifter. Finally, nice to see again. These things work better, are simple, easier to use and look nice. Cons: Low profile tires.. probably the reason the ride stinks.. and the low stance which causes poor visibility (for bad safety) and hurts overall comfort and access.

I just discovered this car. I could get a luxury premium version of the Civic!! This car still has the 2.4 reliable engine, and not a frking turbo. NOTE: All Civic come with turbo. I just bought a 2018 RDX with V-6 engine and now I am going to buy this for a second car. It came with everything for $26,000.

It really seems Honda could be doing alot more with 99% of the Acura lineup. Acura offerings were among some of the best in sporty cars of the early 90's... now it seems Honda isn't investing nearly as much in the lineup.

Good looking car but at 5'10" it was too small both for leg room and seat height, plus, I hit my head getting out of the car. Agree with this review, the ride was stiff, a bit noisy -didn't feel like a lux car. Would be good for short commutes and around town, is easy to park.

Dave, how does this compare to the new Mercedes A-class? I think they are competing in the same segment. That A-class looks like a sweet baby luxury ride, if maybe overpriced. The updated ILX styling looks nice outside, but I'm not a fan of the dinner plate size Acura emblem on the front. Tacky. Why not just print a huge Acura emblem decal on the hood so it can be seen from space?

Ashamed that the vehicle isn't tall driver friendly/Passenger friendly plus I do agree with the 2 screen monitor being very distracting. The ILX does not compete with the 3 Series, that would be the TLX so that reference is a moot point. This is basically a compact car...that is soon to be replaced. Geez Dave, nobody called the Civic, Corolla, Mazda 3 etc a family car. This is about the same size, just a bit more premium. This is just a facelift of the old car that has been around for years. A new one is coming Dave, so ease up a bit.....an edit that misleading title.

This is one of the guys that has no bias,he’s completely fair in his videos unlike a few who like Kia/Hyundai/Genesis only... (Alex on autos), Redline reviews likes more of a premium vehicle (Porsche & Tesla) “yea I know Tesla isn’t premium”. TFL likes More of the off-road type of vehicles & their testing is kinda odd. AutoGuide is almost owned by Honda/Acura so I wouldn’t trust their reviews. And I’m not even going to mention the EV nut-jobs out there.

Honda has never been attractive to me. I always thought they were kinda ugly wannabe sports cars. I think bmw and mercedes make the best looking cars. NOW with the look of a sleek mercedes but reliability of a honda, this acura gives me a reason to pick one of these up. I want one regardless if its just a facelifted civic. This car is a head turner and isnt that partly why we love cars. YES

Nice Guy Eddie I’m talking about this Acura being overpriced. Nothing about is especially when a Accord is more luxurious and tech advanced and its Honda and that a so call luxury car. At the end of the day Benz is miles ahead of Acura. Mercedes made the CLA so Acura could actually compete and they still lost.

@@RomanM803 It takes too much money to take care of Benz's , hence why they are money pits. Honda's and Toyota's don't take much money in order to take care of them. So why burden yourself with thousands of dollar's required to "take care" of a Mercedes Benz when you can have a Honda or Toyota that doesn't cost a whole lot of money to take care of.
