To be fair, Cain was BORN as a clone of Spiderman, so him being cured of everything leaving the powers behind makes sense. Like, Antivenom also wouldn't work on Mutants or Inhumans, or the occasional alternate universe person that is one just once. Cain isn't a clone of a man who gains powers, he is a clone of a man who HAS powers, if that helps.

My explaination for the whole Kain situation is Magic. The cure removed the biological power of spider-man, but Kain retained the magical power of the Other granted by the Spider Totem. So yeah, now, all of Kain's powers are magical.

I can't read current Spider-Man. It just doesn't work for me anymore. I love the character, but his stories lately are more akin to a Michael Bay movie than anything else. Instead of growing with each issue like he did from 1962 to 2007, he just stays stationary. I'd be fine with him falling out with Mary Jane, if the writers allowed for him to fall in love again. But he doesn't. Every relationship he has fails miserably or is doomed to fail from the get-go. There are no more stakes in his stories because he's Marvel's most popular character, they'll never change his character. He's always going to be the poor, misunderstood, neurotic oddball that he's been for the past sixty years. And I'd be fine with that, if it wasn't Spider-Man. Spider-Man is a character who's supposed to grow, and he can't grow any more. I know that a lot of you here love current Spider-Man, which is why I'm writing this here. Are there any good Spider-Man stories after One More Day with changes that have stayed changed up until now?

Batfreeze Yeah, it’s been really rough since OMD. But I’m honestly very sure that Spider-Man will return back to his glory and maturity. Nick Spencer has immediately done away with a lot of the changes and brought back Mary Jane as Peters love interest while other aspects have hinted toward the retconning of OMD. Its a good time hold on and stay optimistic if you ask me.

54:54 this is the image that got me back into Spider-Man. I looked online to see where to begin. after watching a bunch of videos on youtube, and reading the summary on Wikipedia I found the J.M.S. run. I loved it. That Aunt May story OMG, Pete meeting M.J. at the airport, The Happy Birthday issues. I LOVE THIS RUN!!! it's not perfect ("Sins PAST" anyone) but as bad as it gets at least it ain't "One Moment In Time"! That story made me quit Spider-Man. Issue of AS-M #700 I didn't like (especially when compared to Ultimate Spider-Man's death). Superior Spider-Man ruined Doc Ock (for me). He's NOT a hero but the number of people that thinks he is a hero REALLY concerns/bothers. I haven't gone back to Spider-Man since.

To be fair thou Sal the fans didn't really tear slott apart first. He came into the book with his fist swinging. Slott has trolled fans on Twitter, he'll retweet a link to a negative review knowing his fans will then cyber gang up on the reviewer, hes told fans to "go fuck yourself" on message boards, during spider-verse agrued with other Spider-Man writers from cartoons and alternative timelines that were upset at their Spider-Man's treatment in the event as not having a say cause they didnt write "the real Spider-man", started flame wars with Spider-man related podcasts, and even called me out for being a "hater that couldnt comment on books I bought and read cause I dropped the book for a year." All because i posted on a message board thread about a Superior Spider-Man overview. Where I only commented on the books I read.

Spider Island is the absolute pinnacle of Slott's run, including Superior wich ended up being really good as well. It's the pay off of most of the stuff he set up and I also had the same reactions reading it as Sal did. It really felt like a Marvel wide cross over event, but perfectly encapsulated in Spider-man centered books. The best of both worlds. I'm so glad this episode came out in relation to the game, also seeing as the game was written by Dan Slott.

I think it was Norman Osborn who was the one made to be the mastermind for the 90s clone saga which In my opinion I still don’t like that idea of bringing back Norman Osborn back from the dead I still maintain they should have made Harry Osborn the mastermind for the 90s clone saga because at least that would have made sense.

actually you can make the clone saga make sense because the original plan for the clone saga was going to have peter parker and mary jane have there daughter mayday parker spider-girl alive and kicking within the main marvel universe while ben riely scarlet spider would become spider-man and in my personal opinion id actually supported that idea because it gives peter parker and mary jane a great ending to his story while ben riely carries on the mantle of his predecessor and honors his mentors name and boom problem solved everybody wins. Problem was and this is the thing people keep forgetting was that the clone saga got sabotaged by marketing team and forced the writers to extend the story even though they already had a plan in place to end it a lot sooner then to stretch it out into Eternity.
