House definitely wasn’t abandoned in 85, I’m guessing more like 2006 with that food expiration date and those cans of air freshener.

Love this house. I bought that Herb Alpert record Album from a mail-order record club in 1964 when I was first married at 19 years old. Now I am almost 80 years old. This sure brings back memories. If I were young again and had the money, I would buy this house, send in a professional cleaning and preservation crew, move in and live in it just as it is

The record albums are from the 1960s. The old TV is 1950s. The portable TV on top of the older TV is 1970s. That's not an answering machine in the bedroom, it's an old police scanner. The afro photo is late 1960s to mid 1970s. I'm guessing this was grandma and grandpa's house. The photos are their children and grandchildren. Gram and gramps likely passed, and nobody took control of their home. Could still be in the family, just not lived in. Canned goods usually are good for 2 years. The expiration date of 2008 would suggest they were purchased in 2006, which would likely be the last time the home was occupied. The 1985 calendar was probably kept for decaration after it expired. This is a fantastic explore.

Why would you ask why people have mothballs as they're older? Why? Because it protected the stuff in the home especially like blankets and things like that from decaying and and moth and rats and stuff like that. From eating the linens and stuff they didn't collect them. It was a choice to have that in your home. It has not been abandoned since 1985. There is febreze deodorizers in there which I'm currently looking at and that's something like in the last maybe 5 to 10 years and the food at 2008 anytime before that. The person might have passed away but the house was not abandoned since 1985 nice try and just because the calendar says 1985, it doesn't mean that person didn't like the cats on the calendar and used it just to fill that space. I've done something like that. Oh wow look at that. Yes, the green thing that's on the top of the shelving unit is a beautiful hair dryer of the '60s lots of people like to use those

Great video, beautiful old house but I wonder about the lack of cobwebs. I live in an A-frame and i have to get a ladder almost once a year to get rid of the ones above. And I kind of think you weren't the first explorer in there. At least no graffiti or vandalism. Thank you!

Grandma's social security check probably paid a lot of the bills it's probably why they moved. Grandma was the corner stone of the family. My mama knew how to penny pintch and pay the Bills and eat to. They simply couldn't pay the bills and moved. Women are a lot better at managing money.

My Dude, if you don't know anything about firearms you should not touch them. Unless you broke open the action to check the action that gun is to be considered loaded. Even if you check the chamber every firearm should be handled as if it were loaded. Review the 4 Cardinal Rules of gun handling, please.
