Agree with this youtuber from canada ... Indian MEA is mostly crap when it comes to dealing with issues on the ground. Most people in India falls for the marketing on the frontlines done by the minister Jaishankar. In reality its just another typical Indian Bureaucracy run by Indian bureaucrats. Ask any Indian living abroad how much these Indian embassy or consular bureaucrats actually help anyone with actual intention to help for any enquiry its highly government regulation oriented with zero interest to help Indian citizens... that said officers taking bribes and benefits opposite to national interests is also common. It shouldnt shock anyone since these are also Indians who are from Indian society who are just doing what they believe is normal. There is not much empathy to understand what is trending on the ground or which way the wind is blowing and taking action on it... they move slowly and sometimes get caught up in their own hype. It is better to accept Rahul Gandhis vision for India and burn it all down and start from scratch ...from the ashes. There is a small matter of 1.4 billion people well China had a large population too that suffered more than Indians after the MAO revolution. So maybe they will also adapt to the reality and change for their own survival....

But if the consulate officers start collecting hafta for services outside given rules to follow then you can only call it a crime. Denouncing anything means nothing no one gives a crap about denouncing this in not 1960's its 2024; if any Indian national is arrested in a foreign country then the consulate must get access when the arrested national requests but how many times do Indian consulates actually turn up to enquire or help those people????
