I can see where he's coming from. The fighting mechanics were rather poorly thought out and it led to clunky, rather slow gameplay. The stance mechanic, while a cool concept, was just obnoxious to use more than anything. It was also unbalanced as shit, i heard that it was so unbalanced that these games weren't accepted in tournaments. Then the majority of the new characters are really uninspired. Hsu Hao is just Kano with a chest laser instead of an eye laser. Darrius is just a black guy, Dairou is just an asian guy. Kobra is just shameless how they just ripped off Ken Masters and Kira is just some chick. None of these characters had unique fighting styles or unique powers. Not to mention their designs were bland as shit. Only really Nitara, Ashrah, Havik and Kenshi stand out. This is a personal of mine, but i kind of hate that they decided to focus a lot of dev time on minigames like chess, puzzle and motor kombat. They could have refined the main gameplay, the actual fighting, but instead decided to waste a bunch of time in these minigames. These minigames would have been fine to be made if the main gameplay was actually solid. The people who say he's being too harsh sound like they haven't touched these games in literally over a decade and are going by a fuzzy, nostalgia blinded memory of these games. While Max is actually playing and he's not liking them very much.

I'm gonna disagree with the Doods here, I like Onaga. His story coulda used more setup, but I really like the 9-foot tall dragon king that can cause tremors with a stomp, send enemies flying with a flap of his wings & incinerate victims with fire breath. Onaga is how I wish Shao Kahn had been designed/presented way back in MK2. Seeing Goro take orders from a body builder with a mallet is disappointing when compared to the dragon king

Ok so honestly for me when they talked about Onaga, i would given him a 5/10 for being on the roster but as a character id give Onaga a solid 9/10 Just my opinion though...

My opinion for the ninjas is they should always have a classic ninja costume as an alternate. I get with each game they try to make them more different and unique, while keeping them some what ninja-y, or atleast the general shape of their original costumes. But old school ninja should always be an option.
