The language barrier was the best thing about this episode

That explanation reminds of the police station scene in I Love Lucy’s Paris at Last episode 🤣🤣🤣

As someone pointed out in another upload of this clip, the whole premise in the opening section is wrong. There is a native Indonesian language, it's called Bahasa. Every single Indonesian learns it from birth and is fluent in it. Doesn't matter if they are Javanese or from any other part of Indonesia. Mr Menaldi is correct in stating how many languages and variants there are in Indonesia, but the idea that 2 Indonesians from different parts of the country couldn't have a conversation is incorrect.

I haven't watched this episode yet but am I wrong when it basically goes: "Hey white house staff let me introduce you to my call girl date for some reason I feel like you should meet her"
@prismaticmarcus4 күн бұрын
Well, I he doesn't know that people know she's a call girl

would they really evacuate a fleet from port (where it's safe, docked or anchored) to open water? Seems so much riskier.
@Dafmeister19782 күн бұрын
Absolutely they would, because a fleet in port is NOT safe if there's a hurricane coming their way. Out at sea they have room to manoeuvre, hopefully stay out of the path of the storm (in this episode it was like the damned thing was hunting them) and if the worst happens they can steer into the waves and hang on. If they're in port they can't do anything. When a hurricane hits, ships break their moorings, drag their anchors and get smashed against the shore. It feels counterintuitive, but the last place a ship wants to be in a hurricane is close to land.

There IS such language as Indonesian. That's the what State Dept diplomats study at FSI before posted to Indonesia. Bambang is Javanese name, waaay far from Batak. AND, nobody speaks Portugeese in Indonesia. Also, to think that a president visits the White House without anybody from their embassy speaking a simple language as English is really bizzare. This scene still annoys me till today. Research fail 😓
