As a professional Black woman living on the outskirts of Houston, I love it here. Please don’t be distracted by this kind of behavior. Houston is THAT city for so many positive reasons. There are different classes of Black people EVERYWHERE. I’ve lived in Nebraska (where 5.4% of the population is Black or AA) and experienced ghetto-ratchet-hood behavior. There is no escaping it lol. It’s about how you carry yourself, the people you surround yourself with and the places you choose to go.

It’s not the ATL ppl though the Houston hood 🐀 of both sexes, have been known to break in cars, steal, and snatch up women for a while. I’m talking in 2012, but I will say it’s getting worse though.. Atlanta is terrible I went there for a couple yrs in 2019, and was oh hell no lol.. Anywhere the ratchets are I’m not trying to be, suburbia is for me. 😂

No more rappers, strippers, and dreamers… You just can’t afford being a grifter anymore…. It's an amazing place for blacks to thrive in their careers, continue their education, explore different cultures and grow their faith. There is a great live music, sports and foodie scene. @@Bootyeater999 not for blacks. Places like Portland, Seattle, LA, Denver, Phoenix etc do not have all these things in abundance for blacks. And places like Chicago, St Louis, Baltimore, New Orleans, Memphis (and some would even throw Philly and Detroit in this group) etc, may have those things for blacks, but they also have astronomical crime and fledgling local economies/job markets. Houston has a crime problem, but its not at the level of these other cities with sizable black populations, and Houston has ample job opportunities and a very strong, diverse local economy in oil/gas, a world class medical center and space program, access to major universities (including 2 HBCU's and a "Southern Ivy" university) which again isnt something you can say for alot of other cities. Combine this with a decent size black population well above the national average of 13% and it does make for a favorable option for blacks.

born and raised in Houston….the woman that’s in the video is NOT a representation of the city and all of the black women here, trust me I know because I’ve been here my whole life. She’s a snippet of some women who live here or relocated here, but she doesn’t speak or represent H-Town as the majority. It’s filled with diversity and people from all over from all ethnicities/cultural backgrounds which is one of the reasons I love it here. Now if we are zooming in on one collective “group” or type of “woman” and going where women like that hang out (all the time) then of course one will come up with that assumption all women are like that. Let’s be clear Houston is like 2 cities in one, a visit to the city every now and then, staying in one specific area all the time, & going to certain clubs, strip clubs, hookah lounges etc, & walk away with the assumption that the woman in the video is what it is ….IT AIN’T 😂, and it’s totally incorrect and anyone born and raised here knows that to the fullest. Some women love the turn up outside scene here and there’s places for them that do like that, but every woman specifically “black” woman isn’t on that wave in The H #respectfully ❤️🫶🏾🤘🏾
