Romesh Rangathan is interesting to me in one way specifically. like he is this, big, brown dude, with the lazy eye, the big full-bearded jaw, and often has this kinda pissed facial expression, but then he laughs and his whole face and voice transforms to a sun rise of human emotion and the world feels like it is in a better place. boom.

Yeah playing up his angry side is part of his comedy, partly because of his look and partly because he's so funny with it, but as soon as you see him with other comedians it becomes clear that he's not an angry guy at all, is very humble, generous to his friends and probably pretty optimistic about people and life. The dichotomy of it makes him particularly endearing.

tbh I think there is a very distinctive difference between the two. Most of brown/black folks dislike for white people come from a place of hurt, speaking as one myself. On the other hand, white people that hate brown/black people is genuinely bcz they are racist. again he talked about being called "chocolate boy" all these negative experiences, we learn to protect ourselves as we grow up. I also grew up from the mentality bcz it brought me nothing but spite for what was. I liked how easy this conversation was tho, should be like that
@duck6100
@duck6100 Жыл бұрын
I think he's saying it's okay as in it's understandable. Like when you've grown up in a country you consider home and people treat you like an outsider because of the colour of your skin or say racist shit to you when you're a child, I bet it's very easy to grow up with the mentality that white ppl are cruel and you want to stay away. It comes from a place of defending themselves not out of malice. Like obviously being violent and abusive towards anyone is bad and I don't think you can ever fully justify it, but I'll forever be more understanding of ethnic minorities in the UK lashing out in defence of themselves than I will be of ethnically English people with the same behaviour.

Rather a false equivalency you've created there. The angry people in the comments object to james's opinions; which is fine, nobody has the right to not be criticized. Being against censorship doesn't mean that you revoke your right to disagree with anything ever again.

Sahaal_17 Not a false equivalence at all. The people who are upset by this need to sort out their priorities and take themselves a little less seriously - just the same as the people on the left who need to calm it with the PC police stuff. Both sides are delicate little snowflakes and it's clearly shown here by everyone being up in arms over two comedians shooting the shit. Everyone's distracted by bullshit and no one is paying attention to the genuine issues in our country. The political dialogue is a joke in our generation

I don’t think there’s any justification for being racist no matter what race you are or what race you hate. But most people definitely have racist or prejudicial thoughts whether or not they’ll admit it and I honestly think it’s normal. Just don’t be crummy because of those thoughts.
