Hi, my dealer suggested I get the valve backlash adjustment performed on my 21 Ram Diesel with 28K miles, along with the 30K service. Is this (extreme) cost really needed? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

It’s crazy to think these loosen up versus tighten. As a power sports tech I have never had to tighten a valve to spec (that a customer hadn’t screwed up trying to do first). I always have to increase the clearance to off set valve wear.

My trick/secret is...intake .07 exhaust .017....the turbo will come in approx 200 rpm soon!! Your welcome!! Done this on all of my 5.9's and 6.7's....

Oh man, saying that you never done your valve lashing on your truck with that many klicks is cringe worthy lol.. I fix these engines all day every day.. but when you adjust your valve lashing perfectly the engine will perform much nicer and burn fuel much better. Great job on the video man!

T-handle with hex handle makes it way easier.. on the rear ones use handle side of allen and I barely loosen the jamb nut to adjust so there is a slight amount of tension since the adjustment screw is so sensitive. #isthattorquedtospec? Lol. Love your videos brother! 6.7 life

Ya torque on vavle nut is 212 in lbs. Did you do .010 on intake and .020 on exhaust . Or you do .020 across the board. I went back and watched again you did do .010 on intake and .020 on the exhaust. Look into getting a vavle nut wrench add too tools. It will help make stuff a little bit easier.

Yea I did .010/0.20 intake exhaust and I just used a socket to break em needed a can of man. Yes I torqued them to 212in lbs

I didnt set valve lash when I did the injectors & springs. U don't have to set valve lash its just recommended to check it after removing them

Good video bro, there aren't many on here for adjusting valves. I just did mine at 170,000, the 6.7 runs a lot quieter at .010" and .020". How are you liking the injectors? I want to do some bbi stage .75 soon, they're around 45% over, I think close to what you got
