Had after market coils in the front of my lifted 4runner that I couldn't track down while replacing my rear (it originally had the factory air suspension which failed). Bought some new rear springs but they were a completely different color. Followed your video and it worked great! Thank you!

Nice video sir. Will be doing Jaguar XK8 front coil springs later this week as I'm doing a shock rebuild. One thing though, wear a respirator when spraying stuff like this. Personal health is key! ;-)

I use that same color on my engine bay with the red "anodized" on top for almost a pearlescent metallic. Looks amazing and I'm definitely doing my coils now. Also it took me about five minutes of feeling weird watching it to realize that it's the boots and utes. Rah.

Would’ve really liked to see you clamp up those springs when you reassembled as that for me is what stops me from doing this and how has the paint job held up? Good vid as well.

In this case I think Cerakote application preceeded by bead blasting from someone who could do that at a shop would work very nicely. That coating would last forever. But if you had to just do one thing, bead blasting the springs for a few bucks before painting at home would have ensured the best adhesion. Luckily like calipers, although we can see them, we can't see them well enough to find imperfections so good enough is well enough.

Looks real nice man. Should paint your sway bar end links same color. I bet that would make it "pop" more

How has the paint lasted on your coils long term? I was thinking red. Do you know if that would fade?

Do I have to use a scuff pad or can I use a wire brush with a drill? Will that be too rough in your opinion?
@EVERYTHANGDIESEL5 жыл бұрын
You can use a wire brush but that will drop it to bare metal. Unless if that's what your trying to do.

Does that engine enamel stick to springs as they flex?
@EVERYTHANGDIESEL4 жыл бұрын
Yes it does
@buraionline4 жыл бұрын
Hey bro just a follow up to this. How many days does it need for it to completely dry before mounting back in? Also, would normal metallic car paints stick the same way like those metallic engine paints you used even when they are flexing?
@bertbccfu95642 жыл бұрын
@@buraionline as long as it's warm out like 70° or so I would say 24 hours, and yes the metallic paints will work the best clear to use would be the 2K urethane clear it comes in a rattle can but it is a two-part clear they sell it in auto body supply shops it is a little more expensive but way worth it it's the same clear that they use on vehicles and it will stand up to gasoline oil nothing can bother that clear
