Amazing thank you. I made a schoolboy error by working for four hours without saving. It quit unexpectedly and now I understand saving regular using the acdsee file format will help!!!

Very detailed tutorial, thank you. I actually view this tutorial to learn how to use GemStone which I use for creating banners. About adding text, I was trying to add a yellow text with a red background (does this very often for the top and bottom of banners). Couldn't figure out how to do it in both Photo Studio and Gemstone. It seems another additional layer is required to act as the text's backgound color, which is cubersome for something so simple. May I suggest making text boxes able to have its own background color? Thanks again.

I have been reading and watching videos about layers for a couple years now, and still can’t find a reason to use them. Develop mode seems a lot more straightforward and is also nondestructive. Perhaps that is because I don’t do really involved postprocessing.
