Austria, not Australia, sorry Dylan! In the BTS for this video, they mention it was filmed near where they filmed the classic motion picture The Sound of Music. What a perfect backdrop for a beautiful old hymn and the glorious 5-part harmony of my favorite vocal group! Thank you for sharing your reaction to this one. It stirs the heart and soul, soothing the spirit! I love that Adam has a (too) short solo here. His sweet tenor adds so much. Have a great 2024!

This is the Austrian Alps. This hymn was written in 1885. They do such a great job with it. "It is well with my soul" is not part of How Great Thou Art. Adam Rupp is singing. Adam Chance has always sung. Adam Rupp sang on "Auld Lang Syne" and "O Holy Night". Confused yet? I wonder if they ended their association with Walmart because I have hit every Walmart withing a 60 mile radius of my home and none of them carry their music.

How Great Thou Art (O store Gud) is a Swedish spiritual song with lyrics from 1885 by Carl Boberg which was first printed on March 13, 1886. The music is a Swedish folk melody. It is one of the most widespread spiritual songs in the world.

This was never my favorite hymn in the church choir of my youth -- maybe because my mother, the organist, hated the way the congregation dragged her down slower and slower and slower... But Home Free has found every possible beauty the old song has to offer and put it together into a 5-part harmony that totally engages! Thanks for a great reaction to the boys, and for the view of your new setup. You look different backwards!

Totally agree. I never cared for this song. I swear it became almost traumatic for me sitting in church and listening to the same guy sing every verse of this nearly every week, and it would get slower and slower and s l o w e r and s l o w e r. My family on both sides are very religious and our faith is based a lot in song as well. On sunday evenings after church we would all go to my grandparents house and have what we always called tea time. Was just time to spend together having fun, but we did a lot of singing there. How Great Thou Art was a strong favorite and even now when I hear it I can hear my grandfather and my mom singing it. My mom had a high tenor voice so when I hear Adam Rupp I hear my mom's voice. His voice is so clear and pure it is angelic - to me anyway. My mom passed away almost 10 years ago now (3-9-14) from Alzheimer's and the last 6 months or so she was bad but would calm right down - if she was having a hard time for whatever reason - and if it was one she recognized, she'd try and sing along. It was painful towards the end to hear her listen to this song and not remember the words, but at least she remembered it was one she knew. I couldn't listen to it for a long time after she died because I could hear her singing and it made me miss her so much more. So when I saw that Home Free had recorded it, I took a chance and I had goosebumps because I heard all my family singing it and it almost freed my heart to listen to it again. It just sounds right that they sing it. But like you, I was blown away when I heard Adam Rupp singing. I've wondered a few times when there's been no beatboxing who the high tenor was above Austin and the 2 of them just sound so amazing.
