First - I'm a singer, and yes, stand-up singing is better for us! AND posture helps, but it's still not the same as getting that diaphragm really free. Thanks for reacting to these all together. What fun it is to compare and see the progress. The last one is the best one. Hands down. They have come so far. Second - yes, they layered Austin. No doubt. BTW as an aside - the vibe I get from Chris is that he was never in it for the spotlight. He's a musical magician behind the scenes and always has been. Love his dancing, too, but that's just a bonus :) Plus Chris has some amazing shining moments in so many Home Free songs, so there are many more things for you to hear from him. Third - Thank you for reacting to the guys again. Love your reactions.

Thanks for the triple feature. I have always loved this song when Home Free first did it on the "Sing Off" & then redid it a few years later. But I think this 3rd remake is my favorite version now. I always enjoy the songs that showcase all the individual voices.

The "As Seen on TV" album was all the songs they did on The Sing-Off as a 10-year retrospective, whether they'd done a later recording with Chance or not. The upcoming "Crazy(er) Life" is a remake of their first post-Sing-Off album, "Crazy Life" with Chance on the baritone instead of Chris, also as a 10-year retrospective.

Ok. Great 3 fer.... BUT, now you just MUST do the memory lapse video. "Nah nah nah nah nah nah...."...😂😂❤❤
@bernieregnier450010 ай бұрын
They really stepped it up artistically with their interpretation with the sentimental scenes in the windows, the setting in the cabin and their clothing choices. They also, made significant enhancements in their vocals that set them apart from their original release. As you indicated they set the bar higher with each release against their own performances. They already are elite and they never settle. Their ability to assess themselves with increased performance values is impeccable and a very unique gift in this production/performance that keeps the freshness for us the audience in awe. ❣

There's a live version where Austin forgets the words which is hilarious!!! Like a fine wine, Home Free definitely gets better with time. I hate that Austin is leaving as well but thankful that Rob and Adam Rupp didn't leave when they started families.

That was good of you doing all 3 versions. I heard the band fought to have Rob sing the lead on this during the Sing Off as the producers wanted Tim or Austin to do it and the judges were the most critical of them in this song. I think their voices are more mature now and Adam shows off more of what he can do. 😍😄

I’ve always heard it was the producers want it to be Austin and Tim not necessarily the Judges unless they were also the producers. This was also why Chris never got any mention durning the Sing off and that was so wrong they are all incredible.

I really like the original Zac Brown Band version of this song but this...this is next level. Colder Weather is now a Home Free song. I don't make the rules! The Sing Off version of this song was really cute and pretty. The second version was fabulous and felt very updated. And then the new version...that was just...I got major goosebumps and all sorts of good tinglies...LOL Thank you to Teri for choosing this song, it is absolutely wonderful to see their improvement and how they are making this their own... And thank you DJ for covering all three versions of the songs and reacting to them in one reaction, truly shows the improvement and the difference. As someone who is not very musically intelligent, this is a wonderful way to see these songs. Plus you know I will never complain about more DJ! #HerdLove

They released the second version because they had no studio recording of it, and when they re-did Full of Cheer into Full of (Even) More Cheer with Chance it seemed like the logical time to do a full studio production, and replace the live version on Full of Cheer that was from the Sing Off Tour. Don't beat yourself up for overlooking Chance. Particularly in his early days w/ HF, Chance suffered from the same fate that Chris did - baritones don't get a lot of stand out solos. Yes, I know he is a bass, but he was replacing a baritone and until they had a chance to create new songs/arrangements to take advantage of his range, he was cast as a baritone.

Yes, they do double (triple?) track Austin in some places in both of the studio versions. And I don't even care. Just makes it sound fuller. I have seen them do this live, too, and it's just a great without the extra tracks.
@Miyako9610 ай бұрын
I absolutely love this song by them. And I always find it so amusing, yet accurate, that in each update, they all make little tweaks to their parts according to their growth, EXCEPT TIM 😂 like they all collectively decided "Oh yeah let's definitely to this to the song, and Austin that new run is perfect, Chance, that sounds amazing, but Tim? Stay the same. You're perfect JUST the way you are" 😂
@Indigo_moon10 ай бұрын
Yes, it's everything you said it was. New recording, sounds better (I'm guessing new recording equipment), they've grown. Also, I think they did the rerecordings to make a new album (for money) but more importantly, so they can get rights to these songs because now they are independant. And people can react to them on YT without worrying about copyright issues. Thanks for another awesome reaction 🍟🎵❤
@brendasorenson618610 ай бұрын
Thanks for the triple reaction! All three versions are good, but each re-recording is better than the last (IMO). It really shows off their personal and collective growth and maturity. I was mildly surprised that their newest version was better, b/c the other was so good. And Chance? When you're in a group where everyone, including him, is ridiculously talented, it can be hard for a person to keep up with all five talented men.

You are correct about them dropping the background out for Austin's part. Also notice that his ramp up is much smoother and softer. Before this version it was mostly (gorgeous) vocal pyrotechnics. In this one, he slowly builds to an emotional peak.

The Sing Off version is lovely, and the older version is excellent, but I think this latest version is a masterpiece. It's a completely new recording, and thanks to the upgraded production everyone just shines. All of them are showing how they have matured as vocalists and performers. Adam's percussion is powerful but subtle, and Rob demonstrates why the producers on the Sing Off were idiots to discount him. It's definitely worth seeing all three together to see and hear how they have developed.. . . . . . . But I also agree that the notorious live version is also worth a reaction 😂

The one thing that strikes me about the third version is that the harmonies are clearer, sharper, and more specific. Not sure I can explain it any better. I really appreciate hearing all three. I've seen the first and third before, but definitely never saw the second one. I don't think you're listening to things that aren't there. They're there, just so well integrated it makes you doubt what you're hearing. Great reaction!

DJ, I I love that you reacted to all three video version of Colder Weather! They are all unique, and each one was better than the previous. There was an audio version with Chris on the Full of Cheer album. I honestly can’t remember if there was a video with Chris. I love how you mentioned how it’s easier to sing standing than sitting unless you have proper posture. I remember my high school choir director reminding us all to sit up straight and elongate our upper bodies, I also appreciate how you (unnecessarily) apologized for not commenting on Chance in your earlier reactions, recognizing what an incredible talent he truly is. Great reaction and commentary!

I thought the same thing when Chris left. I was wrong. I do love Chris,s voice which is naturally smoother and sweeter. Chance has a voice with rough edges, which infancies the blend when they are all singing and is ear grabbing when he has the lead voice. With Chris it meant that Tim would usually sing the low part on the recordings if it was too low for Chris. This would happen when Tim was lead and the bass line was just at the end of Chris,s ability. No need for that with Chance, he can go almost as low as Tim now!
@wirelessmikedj778410 ай бұрын

I think its a few things. #1 This is not confirmed, but I think the fries really wanted studio versions of Cruise, Pretty Women, and I want crazy and they decided to rerecord the entire sign off set. #2 That then brought to light the idea to redo the ceazy life and take over ownership. Thats my take anyway.
